Lightning Sorc: What armour should I use?

My sorc is lvl 80 right now and the guide recommends a Ormus Robe. I have one lying around and tried it on. With ormus on, my lightning does 26k dmg but I suffer badly with my resist. So I tried on a Vipermagi and surprisingly my dmg went up to 27k and my resist was positive in Hell. My Ormus is not a good one with 14%Lite Dmg and +3 Nova and I still need to get one with +3Lightning but would Vipermagi be a better choice? I have an Up'd Vipermagi with Perfect Resist and planning to Um it, so should I use that?

ormus kindof sucks unless you have one with +skills on a skill that you use. The +3 nova doesnt add to your lightning or CL damage, and the +14% lightning damage is equivalent to less than 2 extra levels of mastery. So until you get a +3 lightning ormus, you are much better off with vipermagi.

I'm assuming this is for pvp...?

The viper is very useful providing you need the extra 10FCR to hit a bp, otherwise a 15% Ormus using an effective skill is much better, to solve the res you can still Um this instead of sticking a facet in it, the dmg lost is more than worth the gain in res.

Ya this is for Pvp. If I use Viper I can ditch my Magefist for Bloodfist which gives a nice FHR. Thnx for the advise. :wave:

Also Ill provide my current gear if anyone of you has anymore opinions.

Armour: Up'd Viper 30%FCR/Ormus 14%Lite +3 Nova 20%FCR :scratch:
Belt: Arach 20%FCR
Glove: Up'd Bloodfist/Mage 20%FCR (If I need a hit a bp)
Boot: Silkweave
Shield: Lidless 20%FCR
Weapon: Eschutas 40%FCR
Rings: 2x SOJs
Ammy: Mara

If you need more res... a hoto can work its way into there by replacing the Eschuta's, my sorc varies between the two. It works well and there is no loss in FCR hence an easy change.
