Lightning Javazon questions?

I heard CS was a great boss killer, it works but its terribly slow. Does Infinity and Griffon's Eye speed me up that much?

Mana leech vs mana after each kill My crescent moon takes care of my mana problems but I would like a Maras or Highlords. Would a lidless be a good compromise? I like my SoJ and ravenfrost.

Also with Infinity can I trade my secondary weapon for a CtA buff?

Lastly, What strategy do I need to avoid shooting the little stygian dolls and getting blasted?

It is a terrific boss killer. If you don't have griffon's or infinity, try lower resist charges on switch. Up to lvl 3 (high lvl char can shop) or easier just get a lvl 2 lower res charged wand instead

Infinity and Griffon's Eye will definitely make a big difference.

Mara's vs. HLW will depend on which IAS breakpoint you want to hit. Someone else can do the math, but for LF, speed > damage. As for shield, Spirit >>> Lidless.

I haven't played a javzon in a long time, so I'll let the experts chime in for the rest, but those are my thoughts :)

Sounds like you are primarily targeting meph, and doing so with an enigma-less javazon. If that's true keep this in mind: BliZz, in their infinite wisdom, gave meph the highest resistances of the act bosses, which doesn't compensate for his stupid non-moat crossing AI, only serving to make his death much more ignoble,
And drawn out, but I digress. In hell, a javazon needs to knock meph's resists down a little, not a lot. Thunderstroke will get you there, and can be traded for on the cheap, whereas infinity/griff are much harder to come by. If you don't have enigma to escape the dolls, then find an amulet with teleport charges. I can't remember how much the recharge is on such an ammy, but I don't recall it being cost prohibitive. Someone already said to stick with spirit... Because spirit is awesome. There are other choices, but if you want mana leech choices forget about shield, instead look toward traditional options for mana: gloves or rings, or even your belt. Crescent moon isn't a great ammy choice for a javazon, or most character builds, in my opinion.

Edit: your remark about avoiding shooting dolls at random has me wondering if you are being click happy while your toon is running. Always hold down left mouse in an area with no monster, and never release it, even when changing direction, until you need to fight, teleport, or you get to where you are going.

One point I didn't see in my scan of the replies is that your angle of attack can make a big difference on the number of CS bolts that hit. In other words if you stand directly below a boss vs. diagonally below a boss, it can affect your kill speed significantly. The size of the boss matters too, so changing your angle of attack won't be as noticeable against an act boss like Meph as it will against smaller, random bosses.

Make sure you have at least 20% IAS on your gloves or somewhere. I've also found that a Medusa's Gaze can work nicely for the Lower Resist proc for this character, particularly against bosses. All the more if you can get a lightning facet in there. It does have a high Str req though, some which can be alleviated with Enigma.

It doesn't say which boss, but I'd assume baal, not meph. Dolls can be a problem here as well, and wave 2 will resurrect them if their bones aren't removed by baal. I'd make sure to cast decoy in such a place that any suddenly reanimated dolls will attack the decoy, and not you.

Running meph with a javazon would be... less heard of, to put it mildly.

I only use my javazon for cows, so I'm fine with faceted Head Hunter's Glory and faceted Ormus' robes (don't need enigma for cows) for damage, but then again, I use infinity HF merc and Griffon's....

I'm using her as a dedicated Baal runner, and I'm using CoH for my armor. My speed has picked up considerably since I now that I have Griffons Eye. I think I just need more practice so I can use my skills more effectively.

Thanks for all the help!

Next step is realizing that Enigma is best and only armor for javazons.

I see so many people going for CoH being stuck in this "amazons teleport so slow so CoH best armor" mentality.
You will never be able to do stuff like this with CoH.
CoH -> Enigma upgrade is bigger thing than Insight -> Infinity so when you have chance try it. There will be no turning back.

Short answer: 1.07 mpk ring (they get up to 37 mana per kill) for mana. Regular mpk rings go for pgems. fcr/mpk are quite expensive on trade forums.
As for resists, there are ways around but I generally find them unnecessary except LR against gloams.

Here is character thread. It would probably give you more details about zon than I would write here.

On budget I'd drop maxblock and use Spirit Monarch + full vita zon. Faceted shield is really nice if you are comfortable switching from cta/spirit to titan's + facetshield but for starters spirit is really good option.
