Don't forget in addition to the +65 resistance u get with CoH armor you still have a shield for added resists. You definitely want +skills to up your damage but realize that lightning damage can spike really high or give a low minimum damage so you have to be able to pump out those damage spells.
If you can't get a good crafted set of gloves with fast cast magefists work wonders.
Don't forget jewel facets for added light damage/-resistance
Griff's eye/shako
Tal rasha ammy/mara's if ur desperate for resists/crafted ammy
Eschutas/occy
Chains of honor/vipermagi/enigma
arachnids/crafted caster belt
magefists/crafted caster gloves/bloodfists (if you dont have enough fast his recovery)
boots ur preference but i prefer ones with FHR on them & resists.
stormshield (with CoH and a ber rune in the shield you will hit 50% damage reduction cap)/sanctuary (more + skills & fast cast)/lidless wall (cheaper version of sanc)
and if your aiming for "uber" light sorc your gonna want an infinity merc.
