Light sorc...Vita or ES?

Help me out here guys...I checked some of the guides and I'm still split. If I go ES I'll have lower damage, but does the fact that I will be able to survive longer override it? I heard that if a extremely strong attack (strong lightning, fb, blizz, bezerk) hits an ES sorc, theyre mana is gone and basically theyre screwed...help me make up my mind?

an es sorc needs over 2k mana, so casting will have no effect on your mana, its just an extension of life, if you already have those 10 light grand charms, and a memory and standard sorc gear, thats like a lvl 24ish eshield as it is, u dont' need points in telekinesis i fyou can get your mana over 2k, since u already got those grand charms there is no reason to not go eshield, u get it for free, its easy to get over 2k mana, just need to keep your str low and go 0 block

MoreGamethanPS2 --- Maxing telekenesis is highly recommended on lots of ES builds, considering that only invested points into telekenesis will effect ES. When its maxed, you only lose a fraction of a point of mana when taking damage.

ya but if you can tele and cast spells why lower your damage by 10k? you coudl be hit, and regenerate mana fast enough where you can tele and cast spells from when you're at 0 mana, no need for points in telekinesis, if you ever get a cta you are nearly invincible with prob around 2.8k mana, but if you go no eshield, maybe the maxblock guardian angel/stormshield build wouldn't be so bad, but u would still have low life, also forcing you to use a wizzy, resulting in your damage being lowered by 4k+ damage depending on eschutas

It all depends on what your goal is for your sorc. If you want to use ES, it should be a focal point of your sorc with Telek. If you're just going for damage and kill kill, obviously, dont go here :)

Ya what vict said.. Since Lite sorcs are a huge skill dependent character as in it needs every skill points it can get to maximize dmg. If you wanna put points into ES you should concentrate into that before you build on your lighting. A pure lite sorc needs to get between 94-96 lvls to finish..

At 0 TK you lose 200% mana for every point of damage absorbed and at 20 TK you lose 75% mana for every point of damage absorbed. 200%/75% = 2 2/3, thus at 20 TK your mana ball can take 2 2/3 more in one hit before shutting off or overflowing into your life ball and will recover 2 2/3 times faster. Or, to put it simply, it's like having 2 2/3 more mana. Maxing TK is well worth it IMO.

My old Light/ES Sorc with CTA had 2.5K mana and level 40 ES for 95% absorb. My current low-powered Fire Sorc does a 12k Fireball. At 0 TK the Light Sorc would lose 3800 Mana in one Fireball, since she didn't have that much 550 damage would overflow and affect the life ball, at 20 TK she would lose only 1425 Mana in one hit. At +200% mana regeneration and no mana-using activity, 0TK would recover fully in 60.8 seconds and 20TK would recover fully in 22.8 seconds. If she had a full orb when hit that is only 5.6 seconds for 20 TK to recover enough mana to take a second Fireball without overflowing into life, after 5.6 seconds 0TK would only recover enough to negate 175 damage.

I would have to say you 100% need a high lvl TK so survive with a decent ES, even with 2000+ mana, you will be down in 1 or 2 shots in hell, and you can't expect to regain all of that before getting hit again... such as in a pack of monsters for PvM, anywhere you get HR tested you will be a gonner, if not dead in one shot... and in PvP, well... dmg in PvP is good enough that if you have any mana left after one hit... something is wrong with your challenger hehe.
