LF Zon gear questions

I'm looking for primarily PvM equipment, but if you could give me some tips on PvP equipment that'd be great as well. I'm just returning to this game and I have a longtime friend still playing who said he'd help me out with some stuff to get me started again.

Helm: I understand Griffon's Eye is unquestionably the way to go for PvP, but in terms of PvM, it's lacking some skills and stats. Is Shako more viable for PvM? What should I do about sockets.
Armor: Is CoH the way to go both ways? If so, what armor should I put it in?
Belt: T-gods?
Gloves: Eh?
Boots: War Travs or Treks are my best guess.
Amulet: I'm a bit confused here. Does attack rating really matter for LF and CS? Highlords or Maras?
Rings: Will I be able to get mana leech anywhere else? Do I need to get manald for one to cover ml? I would think Bul Kathos for the other ring.
Weapon: Eth Up'd Titans, does Thunderstroke top it in either PvP or PvM?
Shield: Stormshield, socket?

How about on Switch?
As you can see I'm quite confused here. Anything else you could offer as an alternative would be great.

How about merc and equipment for PvM?

TinnCann's PVP Light Javazon Guide

Jek's PVM Light Javazon Guide

These will answer all your questions regarding both PVM and PVP. Read them and decide for yourself.

But I will run over them real quick for you.
Helm: Griffs for PVP with 2 light facets, PVM is up to you Shako works just fine but griffs will give you alot more damage.
Armor: Its Coh or Coh no choice, Make it in whatever you want. But I prefer Superior Archon Plate.
Belt: Razor Tail for PVM no choice. It makes getting 100% pierce easy which is very important for PVM. PVP I don't know what belt to you.
Gloves: Crafted gloves with IAS and +Jav or +Passive skills.
Boots: War Travs
Amulet: AR doesn't matter for LF/CS so whatever you want Maras, Highlords, Etc.
Rings: 1 rare dual leach ring and 1 Soj/Bk/Ravenfrost its up to you.
Weapon: I think that Eth Upped Titans are the only way to go. In my opinion T-strokes don't even begin to compare.
Shield: PVP its either Stormshield or a JMOD with 4 light facets. PVM I prefer to use Spirit over Stormshield and a light facet'd JMOD is not necessary at all for PVM

For Switch I think that it was decided that a EBoTD War Pike is the best for CS but you will have to check the guides and see what they say.

For your Merc
Act 2 which one you want is up to you but youll want an act2 merc. Equipment is:
Helm- Eth Vamp Gaze/Eth Andy's/Something with high defense and Life Leech
Armor- Eth Fort
Weapon- Eth Infinity Runeword (will break Light Immunity for most enemies in the game)

I'm also looking for the best PvM setup I can get, and was mainly following the guide you posted from Jek. However I do notice some subtle differences in your setups:

Jek said:
Dream Setup:
Helmet - Griffon's Eye
Amulet - Mara's Kaleidoscope
BodyAr - Chains of Honor
Gloves - Laying of Hands
FeetAr - Aldur's Boots
Finger - Ravenfrost
Finger - Rare Dual Leech Ring
WaistA - Thundergod's Vigor / Razortail
Weapon - Ethereal Upgraded Titan's Revenge
Shield - Sanctuary / Stormshield
Switch:
Weapon - Ethereal BOTD War Pike / Call To Arms
They are indeed mostly the same, however you prefer Wartravs over Aldur's boots. Why is that? I'm also guessing you prefer the crafted gloves because of the +skills it can have? And beltwise, does the piercing power you get with Razortail weigh up against the +3 in both LF and LS?

And why Spirit instead of Sanctuary?

I use the following (I've done coh, wanted to try enigma build so don't freak)
Helmet: Griffon Schael'd
Armor: Enigma Breast Plate
Weap: tstrokes
Shield: Stormshield
Gloves: 3/20 or 2/20 mod gloves
Shoes: frw/fhr/tri-res boots
Belt: Tgods
Ammy: Cats Eye (mara's if need be)
Rings: 2x good raven frosts (sometimes soj on switch for chaosing)
Inventory full of java lifers and life/res sc's. I still need a couple java/fhr if anyone has!!

Character kills great, mostly for charged strike though because I was stupid and started leveling light fury last...

My Dream Setup is
Helmet - Griffon's Eye
Amulet - Mara's Kaleidoscope
BodyAr - Chains of Honor/ Enigma (I actually don't think its a bad armor for PVM offering the same +skills. And on a LFzon who cares about resists really.
Gloves - +3 Java skills/20 IAS
FeetAr - War Travs because of the +damage making your physical damage higher
Finger - Ravenfrost
Finger - Rare Dual Leech Ring
WaistA - Razortail
Weapon - Ethereal Upgraded Titan's Revenge
Shield - Spirit / Facet'd JMOD
Switch - Ethereal BOTD War Pike

I prefer War Travs because of Increase in physical damage.
I prefer Spirit because of Res, Mana, and +Skills
And In my opinion Razortail Greatly increases killing speed of LF. I feel for PVM 100% pierce is a must and easy to achieve.

Think of the belt this way.
TGods you have say 66% pierce probably but more damage for LF.
RazorTail you have 100% pierce less damage but if that initial Jav hits 4 People verses 2 from Tgods You have alot more Lighbolts on screen causing damage. Because each enemy that is hit by the Jav will release the Lightbolts. So if you line up your throws well with Razortail on you are guarenteed to hit at least 2+ enemies in a group with every jav. But with Tgods you only have like a 66 % chance of hitting 2+ enemies.

Really, am i stupid, or what? You're discussing about the belt, wouldn't a crafted bloodbelt with str, life, fhr and stuff be the best?
Another option for the shield is a phoenix monarch (at least for pvm) because the JMODs can get VERY VERY expensive, but i don't know how "ingame-wealthy" you guys are...

Can I ask what is so special about the JMOD? Looking over it I don't see how it compares to either SS or Spirit.

4 sockets with a decent blocking percentage on a shield. that makes the shield very versatile whilst maintaining a decent dexterity requirement to max block.

you can go mf (4x ist), damage (4x facet), resists (4x um/pdiamonds), dr (4x sols) and more.. =)

truly worth its rarity =)

I'm a big fan of LF zons, I really like doing cows and pits over and over. I only like this type of zon when I run fast as hell, saying that the zon I'm working on has a lot of FRW.

Helm: +2 Zon, 20 FRW and mana after kill which is pretty sick after your Fury pops every one

Cats Eye 30 FRW
Titans 30 FRW
Enigma 45 FRW
Treks 20 FRW

LF is a mana hog so I have 7 ML Soul Drainers and a Spirit Monarch. I'd like to get a Phoenix Monarch and that would take care of my mana issues thanks to the Redemption Aura. All this plus of course a Razortail

I've made the strength and dex calculations with the gear I'm going to use and I'm actually going to start using her at 75 after torch and anni. Zero points in strength and dex, all life. Should be sick.

How do you plan on getting to 156Str to wear The Spirit with zero points into str. And are you using up'd Titans or Not?

The only complaints about Phoenix Monarch and Redemption is that alot of people will yell at you for your Redemption Aura.

An amazon starts off with 20 strength so lets see:

Base-------20
Anni--------19
Torch------19
Enigma-----50 ( I think I'll get 50 from it by the time I'm 75 )
Rare Ring---20
Treks-------15
Titans------20 Not eth

Thats a total of 163. Sounds Good to me. I'm doing the same with the dex, this is the route I'm taking.

Base--------25
Raven-------19
Rare Ring----15 (the same one that has 20 strength)
Titans-------20
Cats Eye----25
Razor Tail----15
Torch--------19
Anni----------19

Thats a total of 142 - not bad again. But again, I really like doing cows, and I really really like running as fast as possible with my zon. By level 75 I'd start running pits and cows along with shenk/eld/pindle. Its probably just me but I can do that over and over and I don't get tired of it.

I'll run fast, I can teleport if I need too, ML covered and big life. Should be the bomb, I say should cause I just started on her. I was trying to get anni and torch by my self but I had to trade.

Re: LF Zon gear questions

Optimal gear heavily depends on the purpose, and to some extent on your own play-style. Since the javazons are quite adept MFers with a lot of options beyond completing the game, there are also many interesting choices for your gear.

For mere questing, FRW and mana are the priorities. Add in some +skills and MF, and you're set for cows. For Baal-runs, IAS and resists are more important.

If you expect to fight the LIs by breaking them (either by Conviction or LR-charges), you definitely need some -%eLR on your gear. CBF in mandatory in any case, except maybe for dedicated Pindle-runner.

Always make sure you understand what your goals are, and choose your gear accordingly. E.g. running Cows with Stormshield is pointless, because it doesn't help your offense in any way (it only slows you down), while its defensive mods are wasted with usual tactics (herding). You would be better off with an offensive/MF one.

Another example: CoH+Titans provides no IAS, which results in very crappy Baal-setup, unless you make up for it elsewhere (read: helm, shield). Those slots, however, are the only remaining ones to carry the -%eLR. One viable option is Andy's mask socketed with 15%IAS jewel and a faceted shield. That will bring you to 55% IAS (counting in 20% from gloves) which is acceptable for Baal-runs. 'Treachery' is imo superior to CoH despite the lack of +skills.

Yet another example: combining non-MF, 0%IAS armor with Wartravs doesn't make any sense at all. Skullder's socketed with an Um (or 15% resist charm) and nice 2-3 resists rare MF boots are far better choice.

In vanilla SP, I use the LR-switch. If you have 'Infinity' for your merc, you'll probably try to improve your physical attack against the unbreakables.
