    Hi Folks,

I am wondering what is your strategy concerning the leveling of your legendary gems. Are you using low level greater rift so you save time and gold or do you run higher greater rift for better experience and more blood shards? Personally, I use both but of late I run higher rift for the experience bonus.

I'll run empowered 50s until I get them to 41. Then I'll bump it to 55 and 60. Then I'll usually go straight to 75s, that I may or may not empower, depending on my gold situation.

If I have a lot of gems to level I like to do it faster, and you still get very good exp and shards from 50s if you can do them in 2-3 min. I think whatever you can do in 2-3 min is probably the best for shards, but not for exp.

I normally run empowered 55s for leveling up gems. Like kestegs says, it's what I feel comfortable running in 2-3 minutes and the 80million gold pricetag is only ~3-4 TX rifts worth so it seems fine. Once they get to 46 I normally just level them up by whatever is most efficient (ie empowered 59 for a level 46 gem, etc.) but if I happen to be running group rifts that are lower level than my main gems I'll throw a few levels at something lower, as well.

    This is an unrelated question.......
I have a gem i don't use anymore - can the points on that gem be switched to another gem ?

You can use them for caldessan's despair though, so it's not wasted.

Yea, leveling gems is an endless thing now. I'll do basically the same thing, though I play in HC. I'll do 50/55 until its in the 40s and if I feel like doing 60s then I'll do that. I try to empower all my rifts and only upgrade at 100% (unless I'm using the gem, then 60% is fine too).

    Thx - How do i use Caldessan's Despair ?
Also - what level does one try to get for each gem ......50? 75? 100?
Is there a point of diminishing returns ?
    thx

You put the L gem, piece of ancient gear, and 3 of the top tier stat gems in the cube. (the type of gem determines the stat you get). It's in the in-game recipes if you forget.

I would start with putting 50s on gear, and then it depends on how easily you can level them. There is certainly a point of diminishing returns. It depends on several things, but I think putting 70s on your gear is a reasonable goal.
