Leveling from regaining corpse

A simple question about something I've actually never thought of in all my D2 years... if you regain your corpse and the amount of experience regained is more than the experience required for a level up, do you actually gain that level?

1) When you die you lose a chunk of experience. If you recover the body you regain part of that chunk. So isn't possible to level up when you recover the body even when you are in the eminence of level up because the recovered experience is inferior than the experience lost from dying.

2) You don't level down from dying even if the amount of experience you lose would bring you below the amount of experience of that level. You can die countless times and you won't go below the experience minimum of the level.

@ Raskah: that's only true if you don't gain experience while not retrieving your body. So theoretically, it's possible to gain enough xp. Just assume that you only retrieve your body after the baal run has finished.

So you're saying that if you gain enough experience before recovering the body you may level up when you recover the body? That seems logical to me if the amount of experience you receive from the body is fixed based on the experience you have when you died...

This never happened so it's all expeculation...
