Yay. Daggers. Mainly because unless it's a unique, like the one that has +100% MF on it. ( Name escapes me ) necromancers are just about the only ones who use them.

As for a build, pretty obvious. Poison dagger & Co. Can get you up to 2000+ damage per strike, but only works if no-one else does poison damage while it's working. So pretty useless, unless as a single player build.

Staves! I don't know anyone who actually uses them (if he/she has other choices). I know that Razorswitch actually is a good one and that Naj's staff has teleport charges, but apart from that...

I always wanted to make a barb that only threw knives and hatchets..

He'd never make it through hell, but if he could even do A1 Hell just to get the 'wtf?!' factor from other people, it'd be worth it. :)

I believe two-handed maces are the least used in the game as weapons. Or two-handed axes, for that matter.

Staves kick some serious butt, btw.

With the number of IK barbs, and druids using ik maul or windhammer or people with botd thundermauls, i dont think 2hand maces are low on the list at all.

I was thinking crossbows, but you will on occasion see zons using them. I'm going to have to go with throwing knives. I cant think of any character, aside from some sort of novelty thrower build, that would use them.

I have a throw barb that owned normal and nightmare. Hell is tough because of the number of hits it takes to take down a monster. The nice thing about daggers and axes is the quantity and speed. Max Throw Mastery and Double Swing and your Double Throw will do some serious damage. Here's my damage:

    Dual Ethereal Warshrike without Might
    1938-3320, 2067-3566

    With Might:
    2784-4767, 2973-5121

Figure in the 50% Deadly Strike along with **% pierce (50 from Warshrike, 33 from Razortail) and he does some serious damage. Gimmershreds are nice but don't auto-repair and cost 31 gold an axe IIRC. That gets expensive. Still, with decent rare elite throwing axes or knives a throw barb can hold his own in a 4 player or less game.

Most definately. Oil potions, choking gas potions, strangling gas potions (I suppose there's supposed to be a difference) and just about any other throwing potion you can think of. At low levels I pick them up and sell them to merchants for a good penny, but does anyone actually use them? o_O

not sure why so many voted daggers. My sorc for sure would rather use a wizardspike over a staff. Heck, i use wizardspike on all my casters.

I'd have to go with spears since most A2 mercs probably have some kind of polearm on them. Besides, when's the last time you've seen a pikazon? I haven't seen once since I actually played one in classic before the Jab nerf.

Daggers...i mean, there's no barb mastery for daggers. The only ones people ever use are Gull and Wizspike. I played through act 1 with my Double Digglers and couldnt do much else after a1...

Though, throwing potions are kinda useless...

My throw barb is now in act 3 hell and doing OK you need to use the different war crys along with throw in order to make the build work. Well that and a couple good unique throw weapons.
