Lancezerker PvP build.

I'm seriously considering making a berzerker with either GPA or Warpike for PvP. My reasoning is that I believe if you namelock teleport onto somebody, the extra range will allow it to actually strike them before they leave the range by running, ww, or other non-teleport locomotion. I have not tried or tested this, I'm simply asking. I came across a berzerker in dueling a while ago (I was my BvC WWbarb), and found that they had to play a kind of guessing game, trying to teleport in the direction I would whirl so they would have a chance to stike me with their zerk axe.

Has anybody done this? Is it possible? Is it good?

Was his name "Intermediate" by any chance? If so it was me! Im still not used to tele-zerking yet, I keep trying to tri whirl lol.

His name wasn't intermediate, but he really did seem to know what he was doing. He certainly stopped telejumping me when he realized that I just kept WW whenever I expected one, thus damaging him on his jump and being out of his effective range.

But seriously, is there no advice? Has nobody ever tried this before?

Remember your damage cieling.

Rare few characters are going to require a fully loaded warpike zerk to bring down. People tried this in hardcore and found that if some one tanks your zerk with blocking you are going to be in a real mess...Esp.if they can hit you 3 times before your frames finish.

... Okay, so using a two handed weapon for zerk isn't viable in PvP?

The extra range won't do any good, and I need to use a shield to be effective?

Seriously, more than anything else I would like the range question to be answered. I've put the question in two threads now, and still nobody has answered. Is it true that NOBODY knows? I'm almost willing to waste the time and money on this build just to answer the question myself, but I'm still holding out hope that somebody already knows.

Range is nice but not in the way you hope (i.e. not as effective as you think). It's main merit is to be able to hit hdins and smiters from a greater distance. Normally you telezerk most people so range isn't really an issue then. Very good vs people who try to escape telezerk by running though :)

Alright, not exactly the straight answer I had hoped, but at least it's something. You start by saying that it doesn't work in the way I had hoped, but then at the end of your post you say that it does exactly what I hoped.... It hits people attempting to escape telezerk by running (and therefore also those using WW).

I'm going to a different city for work for the next two days or so. I hope when I get back I'll have either a brief, concise and assured answer, or an extensive and guidelike answer. If I get neither, I'm going to make the build regardless just to see if it'll work.

Most people just tele away so range is a non-issue. Very very few attempt to run away from telezerk. That's the main reason. Twohanders with range 5 are nice mainly for the huge damage and for hitting hdins/smiters (and other melee chars) from further away.
