LAN Play, one CD or more?

Thinking about getting Diablo 2 for my wife and I to play together over our local area network. Can I use one CD for us or am I looking at multiple game purchases for my family and I to play together? Thanks

If it's offline play (not on battle net), 1 cd would be enough IF you are able to play the game using an image. The cd is needed not just to install but also to play the game. However, about € 20.00 gets you a set of both Classic and Expansion cd's', which enables both of you to play on Bnet.

To play legit each 'user' needs their own copy of the game.

D2 and D2X are dirt cheap these days, so I would splash out and get a couple of copies - after all its useful later on as you can then self rush yourself when your family arnt on = P.

Its a breach of your terms of use to use a CD image , or to tamper with Blizzards CD key detection, and may breach some laws in your country or state.

Also you cant play on battlenet with only one key and multiple users.

Two people can play on battlenet with one key on one PC. Just not at the same time right?

If im understanding your question, yes. As long as the 1 game you bought has only 1 instance of Diablo 2 running at any time, its legal.

Haha, You're game! My wife has snapped up two of my Diablo2 disc!!! I tryed to get her to like it butno such luck. What is it with women? I have bought a few discs!!

Thats right though you can only have one instance on BNet running at one time.

If you bought lots of copies of D2 and D2X and you used them on a home network ( say your family ) you are limited to 5x different D2 and D2X CD keys running on one IP address on battlenet.
