Kwestjun about gambling

Sorry for the fonetic spelling, it's a fase. Really

Ok, here's the skinny, or the laydown, or the sidjuashjon, or whatever you native english boys and gal's wish to call it.

I want to gamble for a specific green (In this case, Hsaru's Iron Heels Chain Boots). How does this work in regard to character level/item lvl?
If I gamble chain boots at say lvl 35, do I have the same chance of getting these as gambling them on say lvl 15? More? Less?

See, I guess it's less. I must have read somewhere that the chances for specific green itamz from the gambling screen are related to the char lvl of the gambler... I tried to find a guide about this, but I failed (perhaps it's a subsection of one?)

Does anyone know how this works? And if there is a formula?

Have a read of this.

It is slightly less confusing than your pseudo phonetics.

EDIT: In a few hours, Thyiad. Besides, maths are fun.

Swiller shouldn't you be getting married?

And seriously I'm think that needed a MATHS warning tag. :prop:

Ok, so basically, set or unique items have nothing to do with character level per sé, but the chance for getting exceptional/elite item DOES, and when that chance INCREASES, the chance of getting a set item of the type you want decreases.... I think that's the gist of it, right?

Thanks for the linkie, btw.

WAIT a second. Swiller is getting a wife? Sweet! OldSoldier just got married as well! Congratulations to both of you...

You might be right, and also you have to factor in that as you increase in level, the item you are gambling for increases in price. (This probably has a bigger impact that the excep upgrades, which would be negligible)

Any particular reason why you are determined to gamble your Hsarus rather than MF, say, normal Meph for it?

By the way, who uses a "j" sound in the worth "question?" I say it "kweshchun." You?

I say it like kwestyon which is really similar to kwestjun phoenetically.

My guess is single-pass tourney restrictions. Gambling is generally kosher, but unless Meph drops it on the first kill, you're out of luck there.

LOL. As someone who plays single-pass tourneys almost exclusively, you'd think I would have guessed that!:duh:

Pharaoh is right... It's the green with envy II tourney, which is untwinked, single pass only, and can only use set items (and white/gray items with green colored gems/jewels). I need them boots to complete the set.

It's hard to give the proper phonetif spelling for the word question, since different countries have different pronounciations of syllable groupings. I would pronounce the 'qu' as 'kw' 'est'stays pretty much the same, 'ion' is the hard part I guess. I think it comes closest to 'jon' the way I pronounce it, but 'jun', 'hun' or 'yun/yon' all probably viable. The dutch don't really use the 'y' all that much. the closest sound we have to it is 'ij' or 'ei', which are both pronounced in the same way.
