Know how needed from the pros

A old friend of mine is coming back to d2. They left when 1.10 came out. Now they just made a acct and with some couxing I think I could get them back in full swing. The problem is they really like hybread zons. I know I havent seen one in a long long time. Is there any way for one to do well at this game?

I might be willing to give up some of my better items to get him some of the items needed for it. Also I know when other friends of mine and his find out this out. They would be willing to as well. So what would be the ideal builds for this and items to get. IF it is able to be built..

extremely viable. All you need for the bow part (if that is one of the things u want) is to get a wf, stick a point into guided. done. Passive skills are essentially the same, and rest can go into java skill of ur choice.

I gotta recommend a strafe/LF hybrid. For SC: 23 points for max LF, 1pt pre-req and 16 or 20 strafe, 1 pt each passive except Valk (lvl 17 with +skills - I precast her buffed with items from stash) and penetrate and pierce. Pierce should be 70-ish and penetrate should be just enough to keep you hitting at 85%. Str around 100, depending on bow/shield, vit around 100, rest in dex.

As for Jav's, Titan's of course or +3 replenishing ceremonial, and a plus skills shield (Spirit takes too much str IMHO - try lidless, even Sigon's).

And the big question, which bow. I have mostly used upped WWS, others will advocate WF or Faith. I think the key is trying to get to 9/2 strafe. This means 90 IAS for WWS, 120 for WF. It is much easier to reach this BP with WWS, which allows you to get Fortitude as armor. The damage on WWS looks low, even upped, but remember that it has 1% DS/lvl, and a decent chance to cast amp for a strafer, so you are looking at base 2x damage, perhaps even 4x.

Harmony, Skystrike, Kuko, un-upped WWS are good leveling bows. Bias towards +passives if forced to make a choice or +Jav if going mostly LF. Oh, and if they are going to solo, might merc is best.

All in my opinion, of course.

I have had good times with this build, and it is pretty easy when twinked.

Good luck to you and your friend,

I am thinking of giving him a upped eth titans, faith gmb/upped wws, dream helm of some sort, and a fort armor. When ladder 3 comes out. I don't know about sheilds tho. Ya monachs 156 is high for str.

He is used to using valor, upped titans, vamp, and burizna.

which guilds do you all say he should look at? I am thinking xzons.
