Kingslayer sorc

I've heard mentions of it, but nothing more, and I feel a bit interested in making one.

For some reason I feel like leaning more defensively with this one, which I usually don't. It's just that the gear fits so well together.

This is what I was planning:

Weapon: Since vengeance is heavily reliant on weapon damage, I though phase blades wouldn't cut it. So a "kingslayer" cryptic sword would be ok instead. Still only requires 99% ias to reach the 10 frame breakpoint. So basically:

"kingslayer" cryptic sword

Armor: CoH. This is probably the only build that I think does its best in a CoH. The +to all skills boosts vengeance, and the resists puts much less pressure on my charms

Shield: Stormshield. Since string of ears would be good for this build. And generally it's either best to max damage reduction or leave it altogether. So I maxed it with stormshield. Socketed with an ias jewel (preferably scintilating one)

Helm: Andariels visage. +2 to all skills (including vengeance), 20% ias and leech. Socketed with an ias jewel.

Amulet: Maras for +skills and resists

Belt: String of ears. Leech and reduction. Together with SS max reduction

Gloves: Anything with 20% ias. Preferably blood crafts with cb, leech and ias

Boots: Since vengeance wants percentual ed from the weapon and non-percentual damage from other spots, I though war travellers would be great

Ring 1: Raven
Ring 2: SoJ or Bk. A bit hard deciding

Inventory: Torch, anni, and fine charms (because of what vengeance wants)

Now, because vengeance wants non-percentual damage from no-weapon spots, I though bloodfist would be great. However, they only have 10% ias so I'll have to exchange the strings for nos coil, and the loss in reduction would make me take 30% more damage. Is 5 min damage and some fhr worth 10% cb, leech and 15% reduction?

When i put it that way, I guess not

Also, with maxed warmth, will this build have mana problems? Should i get SoJ or BK? I'm leaning toward SoJ since the lightning damage will be boosted by my lightning mastery.

Also, I won't use es. This sorc has max resists, max block and max reduction already.

Questions:

1. Bloodfists worth it?

2. SoJ or BK? This is softcore btw

3. Will I need to focus more on mana or is maxed warmth enough?

Any other opinions?

1. Looking through your other equipment, I'm seeing a lack of FHR. From my experiences with Enchantresses, it's easy to underestimate the importance of FHR - but it's one of the most vital things on this build. So I'd pick Bloodfists. I'd also get at least 42 FHR (or is it 48?), which might cost a charm or two. With your slow-speed attack, you'll appreciate every FHR breakpoint when you get swarmed. When I did this, I went with 60 FHR, and would've liked 86 better.

2. BK, me thinks... I like the +life and leech. SoJ will work though.

3. Warmth should be plenty of mana - your attack will be relatively slow (meaning you'll regenerate most/all of what you spend), and you won't really require mana for anything else other than teleport.

We had a thread about Kingslayer once, but we did not put it into a sword, but into an axe! This gave decent speed and damage. I will look for the thread. I actually built one myself 2 ladder seasons ago, but i cannot remember which axe we chose.

one of those military pick types perhaps?

Oh, and with bk, lifers and 50% reduction, will I really need fhr?

Ok, I think I'll use a silver-edged axe. More damage and faster. However, it only requires 95% ias, which opens up eqipment options

Setup 1:
Blood gloves with 20% ias
String of ears
Andy's visage with ias jewel

Setup 2:
Blood fists
Nosferatu's coil
Crown of ages with 2 ias jewels

Both will give 9 fpa and maxed reduction. However, I lose some tasty mods from andy's visage

Setup 1:
+1 to all skills, 5-10% cb, 14% life leech (whaaaaa)

Setup 2:
+5 min damage (main reason), 60% fhr (good too) 20-30% resists

Or should I keep andy's visage and still wear bloodfists and string and take 30% more damage? Doesn't take away too much leech compared to setup 1, and has the same amount of +skills but as already mentioned takes 30% more damage than maxed reduxtion setups.

Oh wait, I can't wear a storm shield with a silver edged axe. Might as well skip reduction alltogether then. High lords + bloodfists + nosferatus coil + Andy's visage with ias jewel + the ias from kingslayer will net me a 9 frame attack.

Oh, if I exchange bloodfist for blood crafted gloves, I get a free helm socket. A vermilon jewel of carnage comes to mind.

Or actually, a perfect rare jewel could get +18 min and max damage, but I think those are quite rare
