Kicker question

So I finally finished my psn kicker and this is what I'm looking at item wise:

Helm: Shako
Armor: 21/49 Bramble
Shield: Stormshield
Wep: Death's Web
Boots: Shadow Dancers
Belt: Dungos
Gloves: Dracs
Ammy: Angelics
rings: angelics/20 dex raven

switch: 6bo cta/spirit

Charms: anni, torch, shadow lifers.

Skill wise: i have a level 17 dtalon with bo. I learned all the shadow skills and I have the traps all the way up to blade fury.

I'm thinking about using the remainder of my points and putting them into light sentry and dsentry so I can duel againts casters. Originally I wasn't going to do that because this is a melee dueler, but I can't figure out what else I should put my points into. If I do put my points in, is griffs a better choice than shako because the fcr? Also is griffs a better choice than shako normally because it lets me hit the bp?

My other question is currently I have a lvl 21 fade without putting any point into the skill and it gives 65 resist all. If I were to put more points does it every add like 100 resist all? I couldn't find a chart with the effects of fade over lvl 20.

My last question is how effective are more points into mind blast? Right now its level 21, will it being level 39 or something make much of a difference?

dont know about ur other questions, but www.d2skills.com has a good skill calculator, and it is very easy to use

more points into mind blast will only really increase the damage. the stun time increase will be negligible

If I'm melee do i necessarily need 65 fcr? Also I have the 86 bp with bramble and sdancers and my 12 fhr shadow gc.

I know kickers are primarly caster killers but I want be melee with this char. That guide is mainly for caster killing.

If you're going to melee with that kicker (not teleport, not hit 65 fcr, and be a much, much less effective caster killer), your setup is okay. You'll probobly want a Um'd Fleshripper as an alternate weapon, it gets you plenty of OW (though the cb only helps a little and the DS doesn't add), which is better when the enemy has stacked poison resists. Personaly I went for a crafted belt (blood) and a CoA to hit max DR. The belt can add more life than Dungos (mine had 20 str and 74 life, the str = 60 boable life, together with the 74 its 134 life which is 14 more than a perfect dungos even before BO (the +vit on dungos doesnt get the BO bonus). It also has the benefit of upping your OW, as much as 10%, which is nice as with an Um'd Dweb and Dancers you have only 25% OW.

There are spare skills in the kicker build, you need to max venom, get a high level of talon and all the 1 pointers and thats it. Maxing MB is much more beneficial if you go the FCR and Engima route, for that you want trangs + circlet + arach+ fcr ring, or fcr ammy + dungos if you want 50 DR all the time. Especially if you have high FCR, maxed MB is much more powerful. Even if you don't, adding points to it can be good for the extended swirly duration.

Run BOS on a kicker, there is no reason to fade unless you need serious stack. With bramble, you'll have tons of poison resist, which is really the only important resist in melee dueling unless you run into a melee sorc or a fireclaws druid, in which case you may need to stack the appropriate resist (noko ammy and/or maras and another raven for resists can be good, you should be pretty good on lightning anyway, and neither of those chars require AR).

A good zealer or concentrate barb will really mess you up. Uninteruptable attacks are really nasty. A good Rabies/Fury wolf will be tough too if they stack resists and abuse rabies and run. You're good against other sins, jabbers, most types of druid, melee sorc and occasionally a dumb bvc who strays into your duel game.

HappyAssasin,

What did you put the spare points in for your kicker. Did you try to make it so the kicker can also duel some casters as well?

My spare points went in claw mastery, mind blast and claw block mostly. My kicker was designed as a GM melee dueler, but she had stashed wizzy, Fury/Jade and FCR gear to hunt casters. The claw mastery was so that she could throw on a Fools claw + Chaos and whirlwind smiters, who are completely impossible with kicks. They are also killable with widowmaker and a lot of teleporting, but I didn't put a widow on my kicker (no particular reason, just didnt feel like it). If you want a kick vs. all that doesn't use WW you'll need a widowmaker and a FCR setup, bramble is only good vs. melee. If you do use whirlwind at all, you're probobly better off making a ghost with shadow dancers and using kicks vs. casters when appropriate. IMO the ghost build is better vs. most opponents for general duels, I've only heard of 2-3 kicksin who could kick vs. all effectively and they were all extremely good at sins in general.
