Jailbreaking Ipod?

If discussion about this isn't allowed, could a mod please delete this.

So I was just wondering, what are the advantages of jailbreaking an Ipod anyways? Free games? Different layout? More efficiency?

jailbreaking as in making it possible to download free games and such? well obvious advantages are free apps. BUT if you do this you'll lose your guarantee, so i'd just (if this is possible) download demo versions of the things you want first, or try them from a friend then buy them. most are fairly cheap or so i heard. ranging from 1-8 bucks

I use to record songs off the radio using a cassette deck.

I'm only 28, and I've recorded songs off the radio.

I also recorded songs off my friend's cd using a cd/tape combo. That was before I owned my first cd, or a cd player. They used to be EXPENSIVE.

Jailbreaking your phone allows more customization of layouts, fonts, look and feel as well as a ton of different apps for just about anything. The Iphone does not offer things like video recording and MMS messaging, with a jailbroken phone you have both these options.

I am not sure about any warranty violation though since it is a firmware update and it is very easy to back out, simply clicking Restore from ITunes will restore the Iphone to its factory defaults.
