    Jah VS. Eth Rune

Jah doesn't work with Bosses, but does Eth? I want to be effective all the time, instead of struggling on a boss.

So, does Eth Rune affect bosses?

90% of all 'effects' that affect monsters, have no effect on bosses. A few of them, such as Attract do work. Any damage modifiers such as Lower Resists, and those that reduce enemy armor class, do work. Not many other things do. There is an entire strategy guide about this in the strategy compendium. Or at least there used to be one, before they re-vamped it. Your best resource would be to check there and see what it says. Note that the Eth was bugged in 1.09, and reduced an enemies armor class TO 25% of its original value, instead of subtracting 25% FROM an enemies armor class. This made the Eth rune quite desireable, even in elite weapons like a grandfather. However this bug has been fixed in 1.10, so using an Eth rune in a weapon, especially an elite, end game weapon is MUCH less desireable.

Yeah, I also don't want to trade my house for a Jah...

I'll stick to 2 Eth Runes. That will be good enough for me to hit in Hell.

the Eth rune will have its effect 1/2 asgainst uniques ,,,and champions too (i think) you will need -200% enemy def to get a boss to have 0 def

    Corrections:
    1. some damage modifiers do work on bosses (e.g. decrep).

    2. yes, the eth rune does work against bosses (though as jerkazoid said, it's reduced to 1/2 effectiveness).

    3. in 1.09 the eth rune didn't reduce it to 25%... it made the opponent's defense go to NEGATIVE 25% def (-25%) because of a flaw in the programming, thereby effectively reducing their defense to zero. That's why it was desirable.

As far as I know, Attract also does not work on bosses or super uniques.

Remember, some of the bosses (diablo and Baal) have block %''s. I think it is like 50% or so. Eth won't help you there.

Your best bet (if you have a junk ammy/ring slot) is to put the angelic set ring/ammy. That'll give a really huge AR bonus and probably make your % alot higher. However, it might not be worth the 2 slots for that....
