    Jab & # of Attacks

    Hi SPFers. :howdy:

I'm thinking about making a javazon, and I was wondering a bit about the Jab skill.

The skill description says "attacks with a series of rapid thrusts".

And the Arreat Summit (http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/skills/amazon-javelin.shtml) says "Multiple attacks within the time span of a normal attack, each jab a bit less powerful than the last."

So what I'm wondering is exactly how many "thrusts" does Jab get? Is it based on skill level? And how much less powerful does each sucessive attack get?

I believe (someone may correct me), but it used to be 2 attacks and now in 1.10 it's three.

It's not like Zeal in that the number increases as skill levels do. It is what it is.

    Hope this helps.

3 thrusts. No more, no less. I believe the damage calculated, at say slvl 1, is -15% for the first, then another -15% for the next, then another -15% for the last. I.e. -15%, -30%, -45% damage with each thrust.

    I could be wrong though.

Groovy. I guess it is a true 1 pt. wonder. (Better to get AR from penetrate than extra jab, minus the extra small damage). Thanks for the quick replies.

You get three jabs, one normal speed, one fast speed, one normal speed AFAIK.

    At Slvl 1 it's -15% at each jab, not -15%, -30% and then -45%.

well because the text says each thrust is less powerful than the one before it, so that's what makes sense to me.

It says that, but in application, it isn't true. It's just a flat damage penalty for each poke every time you Jab.
