    I can drive!

I'm now a danger to all those on the road.

I got my license today and put on my parents insurance. Now I just need a car of my own. . .

Got a 98 on the test, the two points were for signaling too soon. . .

Are your folks going to make you buy your own gas when you want to go somewhere? If so, you're in a lot of trouble. :D

    Congrats on the license though!

    One with low insurance. :D

I don't have to pay for gas until I go to college, but I make a decent amount of money doing websites/graphics/general computer stuff for people so when I do have to pay for it I'm good.

My advice: don't get a car until you have at least a year of driving experience under your belt. No need to rush things.

I already said no, but just buy yourself one of these.

I'm looking to get my son one for next year.

Ha! Telling a guy who just got his license to not get a car right away is like telling an untrained dog not to eat the 10 pound steak 2 inches from his nose. Just ain't gonna happen.

    Congratulations!

I would probably buy a cheap car for my first ride if I had recently got my licence. The reasons are:
    1) Small bumps make big bills on your parents brand new ferrari's, they are neglectible on an old vehicle. I'm not saying that you will crash into a light pole but drivers with limited experience are more prone to accidents.
    2) Old cars require a little(or a lot) of maintainance so you learn early on a little bit about cars.
    3) If you are into working/tuning your car you can "experiment" on your cheap ride and you will have a little know-how before you try painting your new BMW.

    Safe rides. :)

Speaking from experience, when you're looking for a car, do some research on it first. Test drive it, get a CARFAX report and things like that. Make sure that nothing is really wrong with it. When I was 16, I saved up and bought an '** nissan sentra hatchblack (baby blue, oh yeah). Well, it seemed fine at first, but then after driving it for a while, things started to go wrong with it. It soon turned into a huge money pit. Alternator, transmission, new brake lines, amongst other things. I was stoked when I first got it because I didn't have to make payments on it and the insurance was only 50 bucks a month for liability. Then when things started to go wrong with it, I wasn't so stoked anymore. It sucks when you get your paycheck and it all goes into your crappy 15 year old car.
