Its heartbreaking when bad things happen to good people.

My friend's brother passed away this past Easter Sunday.

He was 17, he had Down Syndrome, and in December he was diagnosed with leukemia. Sunday morning he complained to his parents about stomach problems, so they decided to take him to the doctor. The doctor said they need to rush him in for an emergency operation. Turns out he had a terrible infection somewhere in his abdomen (dont know exactly), and it turned into complete heart failure very quickly.

Though every time i saw him, he was always trying to make the best of things even if he was hurting, and even if he saw his mother being upset over him. He would always try to cheer everyone up, though sometimes it was hard to understand him and sometimes even communicate with him, you could always feel that he had such a good heart and spirit.

Its horrible seeing someone like him have to go through that. He was one of the last people that deserved something like that to happen to him.

i also have a friend who's younger brother got cancer (leukemia) when he was very young (fortunately, he's doing very well. in his 20's). had the whole bone marrow operation stuff, bald head, kemo theropy, etc... my friend took it hard at the time and surely have been factors in some of the "negative" things he did or took up and less than perfect life.

so i know a bit how u feel. serious deseases are awful. at least (i know it's not much of a comfort) it was something that is really "out of our hands" (at least until we discovery better medicine or treatment). it's a lot worse when you lose someone over something that could have been avoided/prevented/stopped.

Worst of all, it works the other way around as well, evil people like Robert Mugabe just never die. In the end, I think it is all random.
