Is weapon block worth the points?

I just started To make my very own "ww/claws-sheild/Sin", I'am a little counfused about putting points in to "weapon block" but would it be good to have about 10 skill points in "weapon block" when using a "weapon-sheild sin build" or is "weapon block" not worth the skill points if I'am going to make a weapon-shield sin build.

    Welcome to the forums:)

Weapon Block would be worthless if you're going to use weapon+shield....Weapon Block requires you to dual-wield (equip 2 weapons at once) to function.

The good thing about weapon+shield is that you'll usually get a lot of resists, and your block rate can go up to 75%.

Weapon Block can only get around 50% but it can block, spells too, also you don't need to spend insane amounts of stat points in dex....I personally am a big fan of weapon block.

You don't actually need to put 10 points in Weapon Block...usually 1-5 points is enough with a couple of +skills.

    It's well worth the points!
It can block about any attack in the game.
Personally i always get it to 26 with +skills (about 12 without) for 60% block.
IIRC, u have 60% block even when running unlike shield that reduces chance to block by 1/3 when running.
But like Chimaira said, its useless if u go claw/shield..

let alone with dual claws, your open to many variations of claw/claw setups than your claw/shield.

If you're using dual claws, it is definately worth it. Weapon block can block elemental/magic attacks as well as physical, and it allows you to keep your dex low which results in more vitality.

Most say weapon block doesn't work at all while running or walking, but it does work while whirling.

thxz every one for the help, iam just going to put 1 point in weapon block and leave it like that, I was using a character builder and found out that it weapon block does nothing really to help you if u have a "W/S Sin"

But I also got to say this is one of the hardest build i ever tryed to build
(not really hard just a little confuseing on where to put skill points)

but thxz agian for the help everybody ;)

Going claw/shield on a ww sin is a bad idea.

    1. You have less life from having to pump dex to achieve 75% block.

    2. You can only block physical attacks rather than all attacks.

    3. You get less attack checks per whirl than you would with 2 claws.

    4. The mods on your second claw are better than mods on a shield (SS or spirit)

All that for 15% more block vs. physical isn't worth it.

I agree; alone more or less 60% less spell block for 15% physical dosen't cut it ... and dual claw looks cooler :D (that alone decides it :p )

And by the way: welcome to the forum Wish ...
