Personally I'm confused. Why are they relating *** people and Asian people? Are they saying all Asian people are ***? Are they trying to sell something?

I too am confused why ppl are so offended over this.

I think the author is trying to say the line between *** and asians is blurred.

Well, if it's just supposed to be in humor, I'd have to say that it's too outrageous to be taken seriously, though it is rather distasteful.

If it's not though, I don't see why the petition targets America and not the author. I've never really seen anybody make any sort of connection that the author is doing.

And asians shouldn't be offended - especially when you just said the line between being an asian and a *** is blurred? Or are you just mad you don't have a fashion sense.

Me... I'd go with Christian Dior Glasses and Emanuel ungaro dress shirt with a plain T. Sleek benetton black belt with casual beige khakis by ralph lauren :D

I like the simple elegance couture of Dior, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Yves saint laurent, and Madeleine Vionnet. Those are Paris based. Milano wise I like Donatella Versace, Missoni, Jill Sanders, and Giannefranco ferre oh and Benetton!

    I think its funny.

What I dont think is funny is a world where we cant make jokes or laugh at things like this without worrying about someones poor little feelings. WAAAAAHHH, politcal correctness!!! Its a joke, laugh at it, laugh at yourself sometimes.

And to anyone that hasnt caught on yet, I think they are just comparing the dressing style of an asian to that of a gays. Which isnt a bad thing, from what I see gaymales dress very well.

i think they're trying to hard, so they come off as being lame, but most magazines do that so this is nothing new. i also don't think it deserves a petition, if you hate it that much use it as toilet paper.

I think it's hilarious because I live with an Asian guy that dresses like that. He's so trendy, and he tries to pretend like he's got all this confidence because of his car and his body, but he's scared of girls.

edit: I think whether or not you think it's funny has to do with whether or not you know someone like that. If you do, you read it and think about how it relates to him. If you don't, it just doesn't seem funny.

I could see how that might seem offensive to some people. Afterall, we live in the Age of Homophobia. Apparently any guy who spends a lot of time caring about his appearence is ***. Only if you believe that would you find this funny. But you would only find it offensive if you believed the same thing. Either way, you're interpreting a steretype to be true, whether you were against it or not.

Just for the record, I'm Asian and I don't dress "trendy" or whatever is being portrayed in that ad. Shorts, tshirt and sandals will do. However, I do notice when I go to Hong Kong that lots of guys do fit the stereotype.

I don't know if you are being serious or not. I'm sure there is not definate "Age of Homophobia". I just made that up. Regardless of how much people fear being labled *** compared with 30 years ago, you can't deny that people still fear it. Even when the word *** is used out of its homosexual context.
