Is there a quick switch on Weapons like in d2?

I dont remember seeing the I and II on ur inventory like in d2 so i wasnt sure. anyhow i thought it would be kinda cool if u can see ur weapons that ur not using on u and when u switch weapons it would a little animation like the player grabbing a sword on his back or something. Like lets say ur a barb and using a big hammer and on the switch u have 2 swords or something, but when using the hammer u can visually see 2 swords unsheathed on ur back or sides or something. its only visualization but it would cool.:coffee:

I agree. I thought it was weird in D2 that you magically switch weapons in an blink of an eye.

Either make it just one set,

OR

Make it two sets (even 3) but officially make a nice transitioning animation with 2-5 second delay. That wouldn't hinder your gameplay too much and it makes sense to see your char putting away weapon and redrawing a different set.

This way, the game seems really immersive as you realize your character is not confined to one set of weapons, but whoops *** with whatever it takes.

Imo around 5 seconds is a bit much, I often switched in the middle of combat at very critical points (maybe I just had a strange play style), but there should definitely be SOME short delay of just a second or 2, with a brief animation.

I hope they do leave in multiple sets though.

Yeah i mean it shouldnt be anything big and u should be able to do it while running. just a little quick animation, like in....dare i say it....*gasp*

I would love for this to return! Though I mean claiming its unrealistic to do it automatically isn't quite a good enough reason. Its also unrealistic to be able to carry around such great amounts of loot, let alone to do so without it affecting your movement, but we that slows down the pace of gameplay, as does having to run away from mobs to swap to my secondary weapons cause it has a cooldown. Yes an animation would be nice, but a 2-5 second, or any delay at all? No way!! I want to smash him with my hammer and him with my axe, nao!!

i think the critical difference here is that the stash might not necessarily be full like in d2.
in d2 if you had empty space in stash, then you'd be disadvantaged over other who have amazing charms there. but if say there won't be any (cos we seen like stash looks like) charms, then you might just open your stash and get a new weapon. that would take 2-3 seconds. pretty fair

Why are we discussing penalizing quickswap?

It wasn't overpowered in D2. If something isn't broken, don't fix it.

It isn't about penalising, but how polished the game is. However, you could do a weapon swap ala Fable 2; Takes half a sec and you actually see your character do something (in slow-mo it looks... kinda bad, but you don't see the game in slow-mo, do you?). 2-5 seconds is silly.

Then again, who cares in the end.

I'm pretty sure if there will be a weapon swap function at all they will show the other weapons and a very brief animation. It doesn't have to be something extravagant, it doesn't even have to be longer than the time it takes in d2, just something.

I think it would be cool if just one class had a secondary set of weapons, or if all classes had a secondary, one would get a third, and you could hotkey each weapon set.

I just wish they had an armor stand (or two) in town that you could store an alternate set of equipment in. It would open up and look just like your equipment inventory, and have a "swap" button.

I'd like to be able to just go to town and switch sets from kill to item find instead of just storing them in my stash.
