Is there a cap on "+% of money" items?

I've been stacking a Fishymancer type character with all items that add to gold found (since you really don't need many items, and I figure I'll have the cash to get stuff I really want with this idea in mind.

I'm at well over 200% money found right now. Is there an actual cap, or can I just go as high as I can find stuff?

TIA

There isn't. There's no MF cap either. The more you can get, the more you have.

but aren't there diminishing returns for MF?

i don't think there is for GF, though

Gold find barbs are constantly harassing the Councils in Travincal with thousands of GF%, so no, there is no cap and there are also no diminishing returns.

OK, I correct myself: There is no GF limit, practically :p

For GF I think there's no diminishing return but for MF there is......can someone verify this?

MF is subject to diminishing returns with respect to rares, set and unique items, but not with respect to magical items.

does MF actually decrease the chance of normal items popping up?

Yes. Not that you won't get the same number of items dropping, but less will be Normal as the Normal items have a higher chance to turn into Magical/Rare/Set/Unique the higher your MF.

For bosses: Yes. For regular monsters: No.

Bosses cannot drop nonmagical items if they can be magical instead, so for them the answer is obviously yes. However, common monsters drop much more nonmagical items which can be magical instead that you will never reach the point where they will produce magical items exclusively and as long as that's not the case, the lack of diminishing returns will be too overwhelming.

However, there might be a point from which on less rares will drop because of the greater chances for set items (or because of uniques), as the game checks for uniques first, then for set items, then rares etc.

oh, so MF is calculated in normal items turning unnormal...
so i guess runes won't be affected, since they're normal items that can't turn a certain colour
but if i look for good RW candidates, it's best not to wear any MF...

They can drop gold, runes, gems, scrolls and potions, for example.
