Is influenza highly contagious or just a little bit contagious?

So I caught influenza from my mother recently. She has been having it for about a week now and Ive been taking care of her during that time and now she is felling better but I got it instead but I want to go to work because staying home isnt as much fun when you lose money doing it but a friend said I might infect some of the other workers at the construction site.

Im thinking that if I just take breaks at different times and take the lone jobs I probably wont give it to anyone else.

Anyone else know something about this?

It's very contagious. If any of your coworkers have kids they will be extra-angry at you for coming in with the germs.

Stay home and telecommute, man.

Going to work sick is incredibly inconsiderate of your coworkers.
Ive never seen that perspective before. Im just barely out of school and all my life its been me wanting to stay home and my mother kicking me off to school anyway but Ive never been in a situation where I do want go to but shouldnt.

In addition, at my place of work, if you don't find someone to cover your shift, sick or not, you are written up or fired. It is exceedingly difficult to find someone to cover your shift. Hence, it is work while sick or get fired.

Must be some other country then.
In my country the only way someone could be fired is if they wont come to work without a reason often, or they refuse to do safe work.

Or if they arent in the union, then anyone could fire you for anything.

But it sounds like a good place to come in with a really contagious disease. What can they do when the entire work force is sick and the bulding gets surrounded by men in white bio suits puting up a fence.

Wow, where do you work? I'd be surprised if firing people for calling in sick, especially with documentation, was legal.

Simple medical advice...no filler

If it can be transmitted through the air, it is a highly contagious disease. Flu is transmitted by drpplet infection (e.g. in sneezes), therefore it's highly contagious.

Just a little bit contagious? Is that like gets half way and then gives up?

Yeah, influenza is pretty contagious, and until recent times pretty dangerous. The 1918 Influenza Epidemic is one of the worst ever recorded (conservative estimates start at about 20 million deaths). Even now, without control and treatment procedures, it can be extremely dangerous. And apparently were due another Influenza epidemic. Which is nice...

Anybody here want to buy Influenza germs in a bottle for that group of people you never liked?
Are you offering to milk your nose? I'm getting horrible images those milk transport trucks filled to the brim with influenza laden mucus...
