Is fort all that on a ss druid?

Well as the title goes I am really thinking about getting one to put on my werewolf.

300% ed damage
200% ed def--- not so much of a who cares any more
1-1.5 plus to life per level.
20% chance to cast level 15 chilling armor 115% more def.
25-30 resist all

Now ink and dagger was telling me about how cool 160/whatever of the whale was, I belive this is better. But how good is it really?

I'll assume you're a fury wolf using ebotd zerk, grief pb or something with very high dmg?

If so then yeah this armor is pretty good for a wolf. Better than a 160/str armor of the whale in all aspects. More ed, more life, more defense, more resists. I know someone will say "oh but +life/clvl isn't multiplied by lycanthropy."
That is true, but with the armor of the whale, I would need to pump str by at least 104 (assuming your armor is 160ED/36Str) to equal the amount of %ED on Fortitude. That's equal to 208 life unshifted, which is a great deal more than the 100 life a perfect armor of the whale could have. Then you can even add on the extra ~100-150 life you get from the armor itself (not multiplied though).

If you duel in teams, defense does matter because you can get shout from a barb. And the chilling armor should easily raise your defense to 5k, which will reduce the %chance to hit for your opponent, even if it is a little bit.

I'd say this and enigma are the only choices a werewolf should consider. Enigma if you want to go very low str/high vit, and Fortitude for anything else (balanced, titan, whatever). Maybe CoH in stash for resist stacking if needed.

300% ed on fort is equal to a lvl 41 HoW without the ar boost. When you think about it that way it just sells itself.

wolves hit 6k def easily w/ fort and w/ only 18-19k ar ... that def makes a big difference fyi.

I'd say 120 max only beats fortitude if you have a ridiculous amount of +%ED already (say 1500%-2000%) which I doubt you will.

Otherwise 300%ED x 400 grief pb = 1200 min/max dmg
Or 300%ED x 500 max on ebotdz = 1500 max and some min

Not to mention the other things you get from fortitude such as resists, defense and a bit of life.

Fortitude will add some defense, but it's nothing compared to Holy shield or shout, which is what I was comparing it to when I said it would make a small difference.

Your forgetting shout+ iron skin.

And defiance+holy sheild, a.i. exile. Even tho not every paladin uses it.

I wasnt trying to say this will make it compareable just better then what we got now.
