Is decrepify considered BM?

Just curious, finally spending sometime with my pvp bone necro and actually racking up kills surprisingly. So anyways, smiters give me a bit of trouble (sins and assassins even more trouble), but it helps a ton of if I decrepify them. Haven't had one complain yet, but I had a zon whining once about it. The way I see it, is it's a skill so why can't I use it? Thanks in advance.

I don't know alot about PvP, but since it is a skill that you have naturally, I would think that it would be less BM than peeps using tele or multi auras.

Less or more bad-mannered isn't really the issue. Thorns and Iron Maiden are natural skills, but some are considered cheesy or anti-monster only (though how damage return works that well when not stacked against monsters since expansion is beyond me). It's really a matter of giving people a fighting chance.

Damage return ends any melee build hopes, so one curse and duel over. I can understand that, but some people consider using potions to be ill. What's the point of having a belt, especially when gauging the use of potions well can be skillful and make a major difference in winning or losing. Generally, people say no to potions for three reasons: once used you cannot duel any longer, they tend to fall out and are stolen if you don't gauge their use properly or someone gets a lucky hit, and people want short duels. The first two may be legitimate, the last one only partially so, but reeks of the new-school mentality. People playing Quake2 know what I'm talking about - fast-paced 14-10 games over strategic 2-1 epic matches of old-schoolers... like me. ;>

It depends on who you duel, anything not agreed to beforehand is fair game and you don't have to ask them - it's their responsibility to request certain skills or abilities not be used before telling you to step outside short-handed so as to allow you to make the choice, not them. Player-killing, though, is bad-mannered by definition - anything goes.

The usual necro skills that are generally considered bad mannered are Iron Maiden (a melee char is completely screwed by it) and Bone Prison (a non-tele char is completely screwed by it). But Decrep is usually OK in most duel games. But again, it depends on where/who you duel.

there's a funny thread about this in the pvp forum. it's not one of the popular BM, but i can understand people for asking not to use it.

I just remembered I have an Exemplar (Paladin), that's a combination of Smite/Sacrifice/Zeal/Fanaticism/Defiance/HolyShield/Redemption (seven points into the last skill, so...), who's almost all physical damage, yet his alternate weapon is a javelin since he's a combination of six or so builds. Also, one of his main weapon choices is Passion, which has Berserk. Both throwing and the Barbarian skill bypass damage return, so even melee characters should be able to deal with it.

Ask around enough about any one thing and sooner or later you'll find someone who complains about it.

I'd say that the majority of Bnet finds Decrep to be BM against any build that depends on IAS for their offense.

Fully agree Ax2Grind.
The only bad manners is a poor sport or a person who uses 3rd party programs.

I really think that potion comment you made would really add a new depth to the game.

People try to make dueling simple as possible. Which is why I like Barbs because at least they can figure in things like Open Wounds and Running speed and such rather than point and kill or be killed.

This game makes me like number crunching >.< sad
