    Serendipitous.

I haven't touched d2 in quite some time and I randomly decide to fire it up today and this is what I see.

What days/times are you thinking? If I manage to hold my d2 interest from now until this weekend (which is a big if) I'd likely stop by for a bit.

I don't really like ALLD (although I was thoroughly enjoying lvl30 dueling, and could probably be convinced to put together an ALLD character if everyone else was eager for it), but I would be happy to "kick my heels up and shout" this weekend with an ironman. Unfortunately, I will be busy on Saturday from about noon (GMT-8) onward, so it would have to be earlier on Saturday or else happen on Sunday.

@CG: It would be great if your interest in D2 could survive for 48-72 hours, wouldn't it? I'm GMT-5, tank is GMT+2, I don't mind being up early/late, not sure about tank but I've seen him on till like 3 in the morning so he's gg too. We didn't really plan any days/time, we were just planning to go with the flow with whatever audience we could muster.

@jdkerr: I wouldn't mind 30's either. So I assume we can count you in? ;)

    As it stands:
    omg [GMT-5]: Available 6am to 4am.
    tank [GMT+2]: ?
    CG [?]: Maybe???
jdkerr [GMT-8]: Busy Saturday, free on Sunday.

I'd consider a LLD if the timing's right. Never really tried PvP and this could be a good intro. The only link I clicked on was "get to clvl9, only found/shopped items" and that sounds about right. Not so interested in getting a HC character to clvl30 just to have him die...

I *think* I'm -5 GMT, and I'm lazy so probably around during midday/evenings. I'll check back in and see what's what.

@omg: I don't have any characters. If we're doing iron man, then I'm in. If we're doing lvl18, then I will make something by Sunday.

Just let me know what we are doing, and what ruleset, so I can be ready. :)

    sure thing , I'm +2 btw

btw the hardcore option is only for those lvl 9 characters , no one would bother with lvl 30 hc duels ;)

Re: Iron Man This Weekend, Anyone?

@TRM: Iron Man is basically level 9'ers killing each other with untwinked gear in hardcore, ALLD is level 9'ers/18'ers/30'ers killing each other with twinked gear.

By the look of things, it looks like it mostly will be a 9'er or 18'er ALLD. We could go for a couple rounds of Iron Mans too, post your preferences in this thread if possible. We're going with this set of rules (CG, is post#1 the most relevant, or is there an updated post somewhere else in the thread?).

    omg [GMT-5]: Available 6am to 4am.
    Tank [GMT+2]: ?
    CG [?]: Maybe?
jdkerr [GMT-8]: Busy Saturday, free on Sunday.
    TRM [GMT-5]: Midday and evenings.
    Zylo [GMT-7]: ?

    Saturday, GMT: 5pm - 11pm.
    Sunday, GMT: 5pm - 11pm.

    This means:
    12pm - 6pm for GMT-5.
    10am to 4pm for GMT-7.
    9am - 3pm for GMT-8.
    7pm - 1am for GMT+2.

This seems pretty nice as an intial time schedule, would be better if we could narrow the time slot a bit, no one is really gonna play ALLD for 6 hours, and it would be best if all of us were there. :p

On my host, it's usually 50-100 ping for North Americans, 180-220 ping for Europeans. Any better hosts out there?

Re: Iron Man This Weekend, Anyone?

My host is usually worse for Europeans, so I won't be of much help in that regard.

I should be good to go any time between 9am and 3pm on Sunday (which is my "GMT-8 adjusted" version of our Common Dueling Time), so we can narrow it down based on the preference others have.

I'll put together a lvl18 character by then, but I would certainly like to try a round or two of iron man. I have never tried it, and it sounds fun.

We are premaking the guys? I thought it would be more fun making them together and have it be a mad grab for all the items. And when OMG dies to Rakinishu we can all have a hearty laugh.

Either way, let me know the game plan.

That could work too. If you're interested, please post. I'll be checking this thread every so often.

Re: Iron Man This Weekend, Anyone?

This sounds like it could be fun. I thought this was something else when this was first posted and declined to read the descriptive links thus leaving me in a continued state of ignorance until now.

I am probably good with some time in the general, 12pm - 6pm for GMT-5, time window you have currently but a precise time would be nice, assuming of course that you still have room and are accepting late arrivals. :D

You haven't nailed down which day yet have you?

Re: Iron Man This Weekend, Anyone?

There will be one for sure tomorrow, and maybe one in the next one-two hours. You're welcome to stil join in by all means.

In about one hour, I'll be hosting an Iron Man in softcore, then after deaths, we can continue levelling them to 18, twink them, and then go for some ALLDs. Or after the Iron Man we can go straight to 9/18 ALLD's.

    Sound good?

And for the ALLD's, we'll be going by this set of rules. For build ideas, see here.

For those who choose to skim, the most significant changes from normal HLD IMHO include:
    - No potions, including mana potions. You'll need to consider getting Mana Regen items/putting points in Energy.
    - Don't get your character beyond Normal Radament. That means you'll be tinkering with 19 skill points (17 from levelling, 1 from Akara, 1 from Radament), and 17*5 stat points.
    - Inventory space is limited to strictly 4x4 (i.e. you're only allowed 4x4 spaces for charms).

(softcore) Iron Man game up in 15 minutes, then depending on who shows up, either we continue levelling the toons, or if you have pre-set ones, we can go straight to 18 LLD.

(Softcore) Iron Man up at: down!

Brought my 18'er too just in case there's interest in that instead. If there's no interest after 30 minutes, game down till tomorrow, I guess. :p

Thanks for coming, Zylo, Pyro, Thom, and Nagi! :D We did a couple rounds of level 9 untwinked and then I owned Nagi non-stop in 18's. Non-stop. Definately.

And to commemorate Thomh's first PvP experience, here's the results of the first duel: an outstanding slaughter by Thomh's Assassin, Who_Omg.

It was a bit unfortunate that I had to go so soon but that was great fun. I am pumped for doing this again.
