Whatever makes you feel better, really. If you have maxed Corpse Explosion, use Infinity, as it will boost such a skill as much as Amplify Damage does. If not, use Pride if you wish.

I personally would use Infinity for area clears, and perhaps use Pride if I was only hunting bosses.

That is, of course, if I were rich enough for such lovely, overpowered items.

Bah, eth "Obedience" Thresher FTW!

(Just kidding. Although I made one of these last night and am really impressed with it. I want to try running some bosses on the weekend with my Fishy, just to see how much they squeal when my Merc pokes them for 5K+ damage and 40% CB.)

I have one made in an etheral great poleaxe. It rocks, takes down bosses faster than some players.

obidence is really hard to find i might make one of thsoe to
Not too bad, I think, to make. Most of the runes for it can be found in NM/Hell or from bad forges. The ethereal polearm might be the hardest piece to find, and I ended up trading for one and socketing it myself for 5 sockets (thanks Larzuk), but it was well worth it. I had tried running Pits for eth Threshers/Giant Threshers for 2 weeks to no avail. I should've made one of these long ago. This is a serious beatstick and I love the stats on it. Just about perfect for a Merc, and very good for a Fishymancer, because you're casting Amp all the time. With Amp in effect, he should be getting up to 10K damage per poke. I wonder what he would get with a "Fortitude" on...

Yeah, the runes are pretty basic ones, nothing expensive. I made 3 so far, 2 threshers and 1 GP, all etheral. Gonna hoard them.

The only minor problem I have with Obedience is the cold damage, shatters some corpses. Otherwise it would be perfect.

Meh, the Cold Damage isn't that big a deal. It means a little extra enemy slowing for you, which means more crowd control. Like you don't already have enough as a Summoner... Plus a lot of the monsters in Hell are Cold Immune, so they're immune to shattering. I've gotten to the point where I don't care if there are any Cold Mages among my ranks; it's far too annoying to sort through to unsummon them.

I still end up with more than enough corpses for whatever needs I have. You don't need every corpse, one or two lost here and there doesn't matter if everything drops in a matter of seconds anyway.

If you use Skeleton Mages, then definitely Infinity. A might merc with a conviction aura on top of that will work wonders for both skeleton types.

I <3 Obedience too. Using an eth Thresher one on my Fishy merc, he does a great job.

I'll replace it with Infinity if I get around to it and have the wealth - being a mage user, I'd like to have an aura that helps them too, and makes my CE more lethal. Pride only helps the merc's/skel's melee attacks. It has no Crushing Blow. Infinity seems to offer more overall, and a more balanced contribution. CB, lower defense, lower resists. Yum.

Best probably would be "Infinity" overall. Ethereal "Obedience" makes your Merc into an incredible physical-damage powerhouse of his own, mangling and killing anything he comes across, but it doesn't really help out your skellies. Both "Pride" and "Infinity" will offer a lot for your skellies, who are the real meat and potatoes of your army. But for me, considering I haven't found legit runes to make myself a "Pride" or "Infinity" (and I'm working mostly with self-found or lower runes I trade for), eth "Obedience" is wonderful, short of an eth Tombreaver or something. If I did find or make legit HRs to make either a "Pride" or "Infinity," I'd make the one available to me and move the "Obedience" to another char.

^^ And out of those 2, via cubing and finding, you'd make yourself an Infinity far sooner than you'd get to a Pride, as a single Cham is 4 Ber... even trading for Bnet dupes, an Infinity is arguably easier to assemble than Pride.
