Infinity and the Cold Sorc

I had plans to build an all cold sorc to group with my friends that would focus on Blizzard and FO/Ice Blast;

Ice Bolt: 20
Ice Blast: 20 <bind to LMB with switch to FO>
Nova: 1
Gl.Spike: 5
Blizzard: 20
FO: 15 <bind to LMB with switch to Blast>
CM: 10 <thinking +7 skills should be attainable>

Frz.Armor: 1
Shv.Armor: 1
Warmth: 1
TK: 1
TP: 1
Static Field: 1

However, there will be times I'll want to solo with this char and I was wondering if Cold Immunes can be broken with an Infinity equipped merc if I could put together a helm and armor with a combined +3 skills? Or, would the +skills items not effect the level 12 Conviction?

Level 12 Conviction = -85% resists
Level 15 Conviction = -100% resists

Any other ideas on breaking immunity?
