Infernoress viable?

    Infernoress viable?

    im thinking of making myself a new sorc,
    something a little different, and inferno sorc...
    back when i first got d2, i made myself an inferno sorc, and damn, she was actually quite good, in the lower difficultys.
    but as soon as there was nothing to increase the dmg of inferno, it all died.


    with synergies, is it possible to make a inferno sorc?
    with maybe orb, (as its cheap skill points wise) to back up.
    the range on high lvl inferno is good, reaching across the screen, and you can strafe side to side with it, and it hits enemies in a line. so it has good area damage.
    ideas?
    anyone made on before?
    i hadn't seen any info on this before, and havn't seen anyone using inferno online...
    nor a druid using arctic blast.

    That's because it has two bugs.

    1. The dmg done is half of that what's listed.
    2. Inferno/Arctic Blast only do dmg in a narrow line in the middle of the missiles (One puff consists of two missiles).

    It might be useful in the start of the game, but it's not really a viable end-game skill.

    It's as viable as a firewall/fireball Barbarian :)

    Nearly everything is viable but the inferno skill bug and its narrow area of effect make it very weak as a fire skill. you may be able to get high listed damage but the damage actually dealt will be small. I would say nightmare wouldn't be too hard but hell would kill this build.

    Occasionally I will use arctic blast with my elemental druid, but its a major mana drain and really doesn't work well even with the high listed damage.

    If you want something different, Blaze might be viable...

    inferno can dodge-lock amazons if you duel give a quick puf across the scren then switch back to your tele or fireball etc. and fire away

    inferno is a synergie for meteors as well (if you want to catch your opp ofgaurd with high ground fire dmg, thus giving you a slight edge in tele-fighting as you spam firebals)
    could be fun PvP build although the dmg would definatly be lacking somewhat
    you wouldn't be able to put ans many pts into your firebolts though
    I could see the built looking like this

    20 meteor
    20 fireball
    20 inferno (ground fire)
    20 fire mastery
    2 prequisites for meteor fire wall, blaze
    1 teleport
    1 telekinesis (prequisite for tele)
    1+ warmth
    cold shield (first 1 gotta save pts)

    I would start w/ standard fire sorc gear and see how that works and tweak it to make this work
