Immortal sorc possible?

Hi! :howdy:
I was thinking if i would max ES + synergy, i would reduce huge amount of damage, meaning that even hell creatures would do less tahn 50 damage/hit. Sol rune got damage redudtion by 9, right? some items got it too and i'm not talking about dr %. If i would be able to archive 70 damage reducted, lvl 35+ ES, i would be immortal to physical, long as i would have mana! Am i right? This would basicly mean that sorc with 10 life could tank hell cows :lol:

ES+synergy+pre req.=46 skills orb+mastery+synergy+tre req. =65 points total = 111 skills, this build would be ready at lvl 90+

comments? suggestions? ideas?Does this even work?

You are not taking into account the Energy Shield Elemental damage bug.
This isn't 1.09 anymore. Things are different now. Also DR is capped at 5o%. Tanking isn't possible. That's why you need a merc to compensate. Sorry to burst your bubble there. You should look into the threads on Max Block vs. Vitality if your primary concern in survivablity. :cheesy: You would need an insanely large mana pool.... frostburns, vipermagi, shako, lidless, wizspike, and two sojs might work if you put all your points into energy.

The %PDR cap does not apply to Flat PDR. You can do it if you get enough Sol runes in your gear, but mana burn will be a problem. I'd definitely go with blocking too, if you're going to tank them, the dexterity will not cost you 3/4 of your potential mana pool.

It's a feature, not a bug, and, except for uniques, cows do physical damage.

My block/vita characters are all immortal as long as they still have life, so there's no need to go with ES.;)

Yes, technically you could make a sorc that can take a large amount of damage without losing any life. You could probably negate over 2000 physical damage with 95% es, 50% pdr, and sols in everything. However, you would still take a ton of damage to your mana.

You might be able to do it PvP but PvM you get torn up by Inferno, Diablo's lightning, artic blast, and other frame based attacks. PvP isn't a problem since those skills are hard to use and aim. PvM is a problem since you can easily get swarmed or Diablo can tank the hit and obliterate you.

I would have to agree with everyone here.

Not to forget mana burn... and shield is offline!!

I think its hard to justify spending 40 points in energy shield.

and u have to spend at least 16 points in telekenesis, just to get a 50% life, 50% mana ratio... if u dont do this its a waste coz u will be using mana inefficiently...

16 points is a lot to sink into a synergy too... I go for max damage, kill eveyrthing first, that way nothing can get to you , so you dont have to worry about defence.

its been done. I wouldnt recommend it in Hardcore except for PVP. The skill setup would be max TK, max warmth, energy shield up to level 40 after skills, and a big-arse mana pool. A single hit from a mana burn or extra strong/mana burn monster will send you back to the stone age however.
