Immolation Arrow and Other Burning Questions

Hi guys,

Just checking on this - do synergies from both fire arrow and exploding arrow just add to the burn damage, not the explosion damage, of immolation arrow?

That seems odd to me as fire arrow adds to the fire damage of exploding arrow which presumably means the explosion itself but it doesn't do the same for immolation arrow.

I'm looking at an Immozon type build atm and with level 26 in all fire skills the figures currently work out at something like:

Fire arrow: +163 fire damage; 73% physical => fire; 6.9 mana
Exploding arrow: +962 fire; 22.5 mana
Immolation arrow: +840 fire + 860/second; 23.5 mana

Let me know if that looks about right. It's looking very hard to justify Immolation arrow. ..Not that that is necessarily a problem I guess as it gives me 20 points to use elsewhere (prolly charged strike). Shame really as it looks rather nice :grin:

Also, re: explosions - does the guy I hit with the arrow take explosion damage twice?

I believe fire damage is added to the explosion including the damage from Holy Fire but should I even consider using Dragon armour and if I do is it only worth wearing if I use a HoJ bow?

Fire arrow increases the burn/second damage, Explosion arrow increases the fire damage on hit.

Why odd? It says exactly what it does in the skill description of Immolation arrow.

The problem with Holy Fire is that it doesn't do that much damage, especially unsynergized.

What is somewhat commonly done is making a Paladin with a fully synergized Holy Fire using a bow that can fire exploding arrows (most commonly Kuko Shakako and Demon Machine). Another variation on that theme is making an bow wielding Enchantress.

The confusion in immolation arrow is that damage in the table is listed as 'explosive damage' and 'fire damage' yet both synergies talk about 'Fire Damage'. Anyway, thanks again!

AFAIK only once.

that should be twice if I understand correct. Once when the explosion hits the monster and once when the physical arrow hits.
