I'm still angry at Blizzard ..

I'm thinking about games like Elite, Civilisation 2, Stronghold, Bard's Tale, etc.. All of which were A1 game in their time, but were complete shat upon with upgrades/reboots.

Down at the local Best Buy, there's still a ton of copies of D2 battle chest for sale. They haven't been sitting around forever either, based on the amount of dust ;)

Blizzard is still moving copies of D2 and it even comes with D3 collectors edition to encourage gameplay. I would suggest encouraging them to increase support, not end-of-life it.

Artemis, The problem is we have been asking them for years to increase support and they haven't done it, unfortunately I don't think I'm the only one that has lost hope. So I'm like "Just rip the bandaid already!" ;)

Is there a guide for fixing the bugs ourselves? If it's just changing some values in the game files, let's get to it.

Hunger is bugged, Inferno and Arctic Blast are bugged, Fend is bugged, the AR bonuses from bow skills don't work, etc...

It requires code changes not just editing files. However modding discussions aren't allowed in this forum. So it's better if we just get back to complaining :).

I would pay 5-10 bucks for a patch that fixed all the bugs (even though such a patch should be free since Blizzard should have issued a bug-free game). I don't need new content, I don't need new graphics, I just want the bugs gone. All of them.

I agree with this guy right here, although HD would be a nice upgrade.

I'll take faster loading b/w games and overall better efficiency for little things like some quest animations, MP join times but especially loading games/title screen faster for more efficient runs :D
Also whatever it is that makes my game make duplicate screenies (sometimes) and usually lags the game for a full second when it saves one

I sometimes get two screenshots, and the first one I take every time I start up the game freezes me for about 20 seconds, so consider yourself lucky.

I have the same weird screenshot duplication and freezing problems in addition to random lag spikes which have only got worse with 1.13d.

install it on an ssd. that will decrease your load time significantly.

I really think Diablo II deserves at least a graphics update. But from a rational standpoint, it doesn't make sense to spend resources with this game anymore, since it has no way to provide additional revenue (apart from sales).

Although I own Diablo III and the expansion, I feel very discouraged after playing them for a while. There are no epic runewords to be made or epic TC87 to collect.

It's also funny because I feel Blizzard is desperately trying to appease to the more hardcore players (certainly they're the ones who complain the most). They came up with the bounties, rifts, paragon, etc. Now they want to introduce Ladder and Leaderboards. All end game stuff.

However, with Diablo 2 I don't need Blizzard to keep me motivated. The game itself keeps me motivated. And I think this the major difference between Diablo 2 and 3. On D2 i have so much to look forward to after I complete the game on Hell. So many builds to try on so many classes with a vast array of great items.

I really can't seem to replicate that experience on Diablo 3. And that's a big let down, at least for me.

I agree with you 100% mesmer. Diablo II itself has all the motivation someone would need :). It's a self-contained goody bag :D
