So what's a good type of shield to rhyme for a javazon? o_O

    Running on about 80str.

I do. The combination of decent resists, high blocking (if in a good shield type), CBF and MF is hard to beat for an untwinked melee character.

The best blocking you can get with a lightweight shield at that STR level is with a Heater (elite Buckler). An amazon would get 67% base blocking with a 'Rhyme' Heater.

The second best is a Grim Shield with only slightly less blocking and a potential for a bit more defense.

If you need as much blocking as possible, you have the Tower Shield (but it´s heavy and the difference in blocking is small).

I always favored grim shield for potentially high def, good blocking, and low req

I used to have a nice superior 170def rhyme grim shield, heater is also a good once since you reach the 77str requirement but the defense of grim is potentially higher

regarding rhyme and blocking, this is a javazon, theoretically she would have plenty dex to get decent block

btw, my MF javazon with rhyme shield found my SS

Get a Hyperion: Good block and good-looking.

Me too. Your CTB can go to the max 75% with enough dex (on my Druid and Barb is does anyway) even though it says max CTB 65% on Grim Shield version.

Still one of the best shields going and very easy to make.

Hyperion does have a little extra CTB than Grim, but you need another 70 str to use it and it has less defence. Not worth it, imo.

rhyme is a nice shield resists and CBF and all

other low cost options include, mosers (2x pdiamond sockets anyone?), or whitstans guard for the psycho blocking

First of all in my opinion a javazon should invest in both dex and str. secondly, a lot of good items have +str anyways.
