Eversince Blizz introduced the first drop thing you cannot do 25 mephruns in hell without finding some decent stuff! Even with a minimal mf%, indeed, even with no mf.

No, it depends on what you call decent. You could run Meph 12044 times and not find something you deem decent, then run him 5 times and find 4 shakos...yes it's possible but doubtful. Adding MF does help but the main denominator to all MF'ing is repetition. You MF alot, you find alot...alot of @$%)& and every once in a while something good...albeit sigons or SS, it's up to you to decide whether the drop is good. There's no vodoo or "super-bug" out at the moment that causes Meph to drop SS's like candy.

I thought that first drop happens whane you create game with char which have NOT completed the quest (meph for example). Don't you need 2 copies of Diablo running, to keep this first char in the game? Lame question, sorry, but I still don't know that

You can create a game with one of your characters and then exit and re-join with an other. If you do this in under 30 seconds..the game is still there..

..though I wouldn't recommend it to mule that Shako

I was not asking about the game issue. I'm wondering if the "low" character who hasn't got the quest MUST be present in the game for the first drop to occur. Apparently it doesn't.

So i made a sorc for hellmeph! Got her ready, did 15 runs: shako and storm and some more minor stuff :lol:

I forgot to say in the fist 15 runs was also an azure wrath, and i did 5 more runs just now: eth arachnid, mesh armor and carrion wind ring.
...
I did 10 more runs, the only thing i am keeping apart from a manald and some sigon items is a Baranars star. Ohh, i found the shako with 37% mf, so i have now 87%, much less then some of you guy's, so i'll say it here: You must be doing something wrong!

As I understand the first drop thing is when you kill the act boss for the first time (getting the quest). So you would have to make the game with a char who has killed meph, then re-enter with ur sorc and kill him. Is this what you are doing?

Indeed my friend, that's exactly what i am doing. Now if you do not have 2 chars ( a mephsorc who has not done the meph q and a game creator who has done the meph q) in the same acc, you can always enter pub baal games, you get alot of exp there aswell, this was how i did it in the first 1.10 ladder. but in the end its easyer to have a creator char, that way you can run meph whenever you want to.

Ha I like being poor. I pity those people who magic find. I just play the game for fun, pick up the items I find, and enjoy the game. In my opinion, what's the point of finding all these great items? Then there isn't anything else to look forward to... :hanky:

Geez, I guess this makes a big difference. So do you have to wait in the game for 5 mins?? Or do you have 2 pcs? This is the only problem i'm facing. I guess i could make the game with my Necro, clear the pits and then come back with my sorky to kill meffy.

Thats the great thing about people's luck, it always eventually turns. :lol:

It's really just repetition. When i first started ladder, i simply powered my sorc as much as possible. There wasn't any mf on her and for the first day i found nothing, but being persistent, the second day i found a harly, the next a skullders, goldwrap and a shael to go along with it for an upgrade to battle belt. In less than a week, i had found almost all my old mf gear simply by kill meph over and over, each run being less than 2 minutes, so about 30 runs an hour for a couple of hours a day.

When i was able to get my anya quest, than i did pindle and meph in each game. Meph usually drops well, pindle nothing good except every 100 run or so, something liek Naj's plate, or a maras.

I've found 4 harlies so far, 2 of them etheral. As you can see, even the best luck likes to hide a thorn.

No need to wait 5 minutes, make a game with a char that has done meph, wait 3 to 5 seconds, leave and return with your mephsorc, the game will stay up long enough. thats why i said its best to have the 2 chars in the same acc.
