I never saw him before and now twice in 3 days

since the patch came out I've seen SOJ messages now and then...more the first few days than lately of course...but The Diablo clone never walked the earth in my games...I had pretty well given up when a couple weeks ago a friend of mine found him while I was at work and had to abandon the game before I could get home to help. (he couldn't even scratch the clone)

That was the closest I ever got until early in the morning on Saturday. Two of my friends were in a game and he spawned so when I logged into Bnet I had some frantic whispers from them to join and help... well we were having a grand old time damaging him and watching his life roll right back up. I tried three different characters and wasn't making much difference. Then I remembered the obvious point that I'd read before about prevent monster heal...
So I passed on a Blackhorn's Face and Cloudcrack to my friend who was trying valiantly with his level 58 Paladin. After he finally got in a successful blow...my sorceress was able to blast away and kill him...

so I finally got to see a Unique small charm drop. Boy it was hard to let it go to my friend but since it was their game and not mine I just let him have it...

Turned out to be a 20 stats, 12 resist, 7% exp one which seems pretty nice to me...

Anyway same friend who got it last time happened on a server with Soj messages again yesterday....took four hours of tag team camping in there and something like 40 messages but he walked again and we did the same tactic of him hitting with PMH and then my sorc taking him down. Took about ten minutes and 20 Full rejuvs but down he went once again and this time I got my very first Annhilus so I'm pretty happy.

Mine is +20 all stats, +15 All Resists, and 7% Exp so I guess giving away the old one wasn't so bad since mine is slightly better :)

Congrats, TER. There's nothing like getting your own Anni directly from THE SOURCE. I've encountered the DClone three times only since the 1.10 came out. All the annihilus charms went to other people, sadly. Experiencing the Diablo clone is really a great Diablo experience, at least IMO.

I was baffled with the SOJ messages and never got answers from anyone until I found this thread by doing a keyword search on SOJ.

Anyway, it was just in time and just as well, because during one my MF runs this morning, the message read "Diablo walks the Earth".

I had no idea what it meant. I didn't know where and when to expect what was said above. Then I tried a few waypoints and surely enough, in Dark Wood, there appears the "Diablo Clone".

I had problems doing any damage or surviving with my trap assasin and my MF sorc with fireball/meteor. The only other choice left was my lvl 85 concentrate barb. I read about the "prevent monster heal" and put on the Blackhorn Face on my barb instead of the IK Helm.

Here is the gear I had on :

Nord's Tenderizer
Storm Shield
Gladiator's Bane
IK gloves and belt
Infernostride
Cat's Eye Amulet

It took a good half hour to finally take the Diablo clone down. I was able to survive the his attacks, it was easy, however just had to keep going back to town to buy health pots.

The annihilus I got was
+15 to all skills
All resistance 14%
8% to Experience gained

I wish it didn't have a level 70 requirement. That would be a great charm to speed up and improve when used in starting a new character.

Congrats Ter and Akslee.

And Ter, kudos on the team play...I'm sure it made the experience all that much more rewarding.

Back when the netstat trick was discovered I killed DClone 10 times in about 4 days. Once I got 3 in the same day, just make a game, run against the wall in the outer cloister, then i was free to go to class or work. When i got home I had the happy message "Diablo Walks The Earth". This was all on sc ladder, I gave away a few to friends but still have several. I havent searched for him in a long time, plus i play hc now and wouldnt chance it. From my experiences with him though a Vengence pally can kill him in a few minutes with just decent gear. PMH is a must though.

lol i know what u mean and congrats... i have a story of how i got my frist ani which was recently like a week ago but right now i have no time sorry i just wanted to say congrats!
