    1. How often do you eat at restaurants?
Depends on if it is my 7 days at work or not. If I'm working then it's everyday. If not, then a couple of times a week.

    2. What is your favorite restaurant, and for what reason?
I guess it would be Bills BBQ. B/C I love their pork BBQ.

    3. What is your least favorite restaurant, and for what reason?
It's a toss up between Wendy's and Pinera Breads. Wendy's b/c I was served a raw chicken sandwhich and Pinera Breads b/c I woke up with apendisitis the next day (I know the food had nothing to do with it but the fact remains) and the food sucked in my opinion and was too small.

    4. Do you repeatedly patronize restaurants that you enjoy?
    Yep

    5. Do you enjoy restaurants that serve ethic foods? If so, which kinds?
I don't know if there is a kind of food out there that I don't enjoy in some way.

    6. Do you enjoy themed restaurants? If so, what kinds of themes?
They're ok depending on my mood and if I am made to go when I don't want to.

    7. Do you enjoy family-oriented restaurants?
    Sure

    8. Do you enjoy alcoholic drinks with certain meals?
Sure do, nothing like a steak with a cold beer.

    9. Are you bothered by smoking sections in restaurants?
Nope. I don't smoke but I grew up with parents that did.

    10. About how much do you usually spend on a meal at a restaurant?
I don't really keep track of it, it depends on the restaurant, what I'm in the mood for and how hungry I am.

    11. What kind of restaurant do you attend most often? (choose all that apply)

    a. fast food b. sit-down c. buffet-style d. other (please specify)
I guess most often would be fast food.

    12. How much would you be willing to spend for a meal at the following types of restaurants?

    a. fast food b. sit-down c. buffet-style
Again, depends on my mood and how hungry I am.

    13. Rank the following from most important (1) to least important (6) in your restaurant choice:

    3 variety of menu selection

    1 quality of food

    2 quality of service

    4 quality of atmosphere

    5 price range

    other (specify)

    14. Do you consider quantity of food to be more important than the quality?
I would rather have high quality than quantity.

    15. What kind of restaurant would you like to see opened in your area?
    A Jack in the Box

    16. Are there any other factors that may influence what restaurants you decide to eat at?
What other's are in the mood for and if I have gotten burned out from some type of food or something.

Do we get to make fun of question 5? I personally like veal. The more boxed in, the better. And don't get me started on turtle eggs; man I could eat a million of those.

I hope this is for a junior high project.

This is actually a senior level class in high school. Its some kind of multi-tiered project where we are opening a resturaunt and we are supposed to do a survey in the intial phase and have 50 people answer, then decided what kind of resturaunt and go through all the phases of seeking out business loans etc. . .

Its not really an economics class. Its more like we think all of you are too stupid to have a grasp on actual economics so we are going to teach you how to balance a check-book.

    1. How often do you eat at restaurants?

Between once every other week and twice a week, depending on mood and/or social events.

    2. What is your favorite restaurant, and for what reason?

Local pizza place (depending on home/college). Pizza is good, cheap, and convenient location.

    3. What is your least favorite restaurant, and for what reason?

I can't really remember any out of the countless unimpressive ones.

    4. Do you repeatedly patronize restaurants that you enjoy?

    Yes.

    5. Do you enjoy restaurants that serve ethic foods? If so, which kinds?

Yes, and all. Good food is good food, no matter where it came from. I'll enjoy anything that sounds good and is in a convenient location.

    6. Do you enjoy themed restaurants? If so, what kinds of themes?

I'm apathetic towards theme. I won't get any extra enjoyment from one, but I won't ignore one just because of a theme.

    7. Do you enjoy family-oriented restaurants?

Somewhat. They're good for group social things and enjoyable for that, but I wouldn't pick one if I was by myself.

    8. Do you enjoy alcoholic drinks with certain meals?

    Under 21.

    9. Are you bothered by smoking sections in restaurants?

Depends on if the smoke is very well contained. If it isn't, then absolutely yes, I hate the smell.

    10. About how much do you usually spend on a meal at a restaurant?

$5-15, depending on quality of resaurant. I don't drink, so the food had better be absolutely amazing if it's over $15.

    11. What kind of restaurant do you attend most often? (choose all that apply)

    a. fast food b. sit-down c. buffet-style d. other (please specify)

    A) Occasionally, when it's convenient and want something cheap and want it now.

    B) Most of the time.

    C) Does a college dining hall count? That's the only buffet-style food I eat with any frequency.

    12. How much would you be willing to spend for a meal at the following types of restaurants?

    a. fast food b. sit-down c. buffet-style

A: $5-7 (any more than $7 for a fast food hamburger and fries is excessive)

B: $7-15 (no drinks, so the price is lower)

    C: $7-10 (if a buffet isn't cheap, there's no point to it)

    13. Rank the following from most important (1) to least important (6) in your restaurant choice:

    1) quality of food (otherwise what's the point, I'll just cook it myself)

    2) price range (I'm a college student, I can't afford to waste money on overpriced food)

    3) variety of menu selection

    4) quality of service (as long as it's not bad/rude service, I can live with apathetic service)

    5) quality of atmosphere (as long as it isn't terrible, I don't care about it much)

    6) other (none)

    14. Do you consider quantity of food to be more important than the quality?

No, unless the quantity comes at the price of tiny un-filling "meals".

    15. What kind of restaurant would you like to see opened in your area?

None that I can think of, I have a good variety of restaurants nearby.

    16. Are there any other factors that may influence what restaurants you decide to eat at?

Location. For the car-less college student like me, it has to have good location. It doesn't matter if it's the best restaurant ever if I can't get to it easily.

    2. What is your favorite restaurant, and for what reason?
Outback, because the steak is good

    3. What is your least favorite restaurant, and for what reason?
McDonalds, because, at least where I live, the people that work there have trouble with the English language. Example: One time I went there and asked for a milkshake. The person working there asked me if I wanted lettuce.

    4. Do you repeatedly patronize restaurants that you enjoy?
    No

    5. Do you enjoy restaurants that serve ethic foods? If so, which kinds?

    a. fast food: $0
    b. sit-down $15-30

    13. Rank the following from most important (1) to least important (6) in your restaurant choice:

    1. quality of food
    2. quality of service
    3. quality of atmosphere
    4. variety of menu selection
    5. price range
    6. Distance from house

    14. Do you consider quantity of food to be more important than the quality?
I'd give quality the edge, but quantity is also important. Who cares if the food is great if it's bite-sized?

    15. What kind of restaurant would you like to see opened in your area?
None. My area already has a bunch of restaurants.

    16. Are there any other factors that may influence what restaurants you decide to eat at?
    Other people I'm going with

    Occasionally.

    5. Do you enjoy restaurants that serve ethic foods? If so, which kinds?

    8. Do you enjoy alcoholic drinks with certain meals?
I'm underage, so for the time being, no.

    9. Are you bothered by smoking sections in restaurants?
No because I always try to get a table in the non-smoking section, if at all possible.

Between $10 and $15, depending on the restaurant, of course.

    4. Price range

    5. Variety of menu selection

    6. Travelling distance

    14. Do you consider quantity of food to be more important than the quality?
No, quality over quantity, unless the portions are really just too small.

    15. What kind of restaurant would you like to see opened in your area?
There's no good seafood restaurant around here, so I wouldn't mind seeing one open up.

    16. Are there any other factors that may influence what restaurants you decide to eat at?
Generally, I'll try and consult with friends before deciding to eat a restaurant, in order to see whether or not they would recommend it.

okay--no prob, I have all kinds of opinions

1-4 times a week--I'm counting drive thrus and deliveries too though. maybe once a week or every other do I really sit down.

There's a local steak joint that I get great service at, i know the owner and all the employees, and the food is great.

    can't think of one.

    yes. duh.

yes. often i get bored with my cooking and/or I'm lazy and I want something exotic and new. I like to go out to places I've neve been before and eat styles of cooking I've never had before.

    not picky, I'll try anything.

if the theme is interesting. if you try to have a theme, but you only go at it half asked, it's not fun. if you're going to have a theme (like '50's diner) then go for it all the way. be authentically commercialized or not at all.

the locally owned ones...I'm not a huge fan of fridays/applebys/chilis etc. and i don't like it when people bring kids that scream. I hate that.

yes. If I'm at a restaurant, I'm drinking. I only drink milk with dinner at home.

SMoking sections should be more seperated in most places. I'm a smoker, and sometimes I want to smoke, and other times I'd prefer not to. I don't like it when people look at me for smoking...get bent, i'm in the smoking section...but I also am not a big fanof when i'm in the non-smoking section and I can smell it. then I start niccin' and I really don't want to smoke while I'm on this date....

    the answer is sometimes.

Depends on the place. $10-$25 bucks per plate usually. not counting drinks or appetisers.

fast food...but I rarely go in them. next would be sit down. not a big buffet fan.

    fast food should be $5-$10
, sit down depends on what I'm doing. 10-25 a plate

again this depends why i'm going out. if I'm on a date I don't care about price, just food and atmospere. If I'm just hanging out I like cheaper prices and a nice selection of stuff to choose from.

I expect every place i go to have exemplary service. I'm a generous tipper when servers deserve it. but I'm a cheap bastard when they don't. I don't blame a restaurant for bad service, having worked in several I know that some waiters are good some are bad.

again, depends what Im doing. hanging out with the guys I want lots of cheap food, and beer. on a date/special occasion/celebration I don't mind high prices, but I want a really nice meal out...that means a nice place, gourmet food and an appropriate atmosphere.

anything novel and interesting. there's a lot of restaurants around and to get me to go there near me you need to stick out in my mind. and not seem chainy. I want something you don't see everyday.

uh, not that I can think of. I think restraunteuers sometimes forget that the hard part is getting people to the front door, not so much impressing thim when they're there. anyone can have a well trained staff and good food, good atmosphere, but not many can give me an experience I can't get down the street.

    1. How often do you eat at restaurants?
    10+ times/week

    2. What is your favorite restaurant, and for what reason?
Otis Blue - Good Drinks, Good Service, Best Food in Town

    3. What is your least favorite restaurant, and for what reason?
Angelo's - Poor Service, Few Options, Poor Value

    4. Do you repeatedly patronize restaurants that you enjoy?
Yes, obsessively (eating out for every meal will do that)

    5. Do you enjoy restaurants that serve ethic foods? If so, which kinds?
Indian, Korean, Thai, Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, 'American', French, Italian, Mexican, Chilean, Brazilian, Iranian, Turkish, Nepalese, and Lebanese

    6. Do you enjoy themed restaurants? If so, what kinds of themes?
    Not especially.

    7. Do you enjoy family-oriented restaurants?
    Not especially.

    8. Do you enjoy alcoholic drinks with certain meals?
Yes, if by 'certain' you mean 'every'.

    9. Are you bothered by smoking sections in restaurants?
Japan is a smoking section. And I help make it that way.

    10. About how much do you usually spend on a meal at a restaurant?
Anywhere from $5 (a plate of curry at coco-ichi) to $40 (food and drinks at a decent place). Average is probably around $12.

    11. What kind of restaurant do you attend most often? (choose all that apply)

    a. fast food b. sit-down c. buffet-style d. other (please specify)

    fast food (lunch)
'other' (pub/food bar - dinner and drinks)

    12. How much would you be willing to spend for a meal at the following types of restaurants?

    a. fast food
    - <$7 b. sit-down - Depends on quality, $20-$200 c. buffet-style - <$10

    13. Rank the following from most important (1) to least important (6) in your restaurant choice:

    5 variety of menu selection

    4 quality of food

    3 quality of service

    2 quality of atmosphere

    6 price range

    1 other (specify)

'Other' constitutes (for me) places that have an atmosphere and service conducive to spending time at the place and being entertained as a single person in said restaurant. That means friendly waitstaff, counter seats, and the like. I guess that sort of falls under atmosphere, but it's a bit different. Since my kitchen is smaller than a shoebox, I eat out a lot, and I like places that turn dinner into drinks and conversation.

    14. Do you consider quantity of food to be more important than the quality?
Not in 10 trillion years would I trade all-you-can-eat McD's hamburgers for a nice 6 oz filet mignon.

    15. What kind of restaurant would you like to see opened in your area?
A real honest-to-God ethnic restaurant in my town (specifically Indian or Mexican)

    16. Are there any other factors that may influence what restaurants you decide to eat at?
Proximity to my domicile. I eat out all the time. I have a bike. Assuming that I can get there by bike, that restaurant gets a super-plus. The place I have been to the most since coming to Japan (1.5 years ago) has probably received over US$10,000 in my patronage because it fits my criteria for a good place to eat.
