    I miss the old days!

I miss saving gold to buy perfect skulls, and perfect skulls to buy sojs.

I miss the great rare rings and weapons, and those great amuletes.

I dont miss though the lag we had back then, but people were more friendly and thats a plus.

I'll think of some more, please share some moments.

    what wasnt good about them??

We didnt have all the elite uniqus u see now. back then u were king if you got silks of the vitor. now i drop them for free in newb games. Thats if i even pick them up. Sad i know.....

Rares in the old days ruled D2. And u had to watch what u wanted to pick up as the stash was somewhat small :p

I miss "Look, I'm just a cow, okay?"?

    I miss "That's not a little mushroom!"

I miss piles of gold. Everywhere! They'd start outside the dungeon entrances, then gradually spread out from there...

I miss running in terror from The Butcher. Yikes!

I miss talking to the drunk collapsed next to the wall.

I miss being able to cast every spell in the game (except two), just from picking up and reading books. I always thought that was a good life lesson.

I miss being excited when encountering a shrine or bookcase or amor/weapon stand, because you knew there was a real possibility something useable could actually fall out of them.

I miss playing a monk, being able to attack three squares at once, "popping" (alerting) a group of five or six Doom Knights, luring them into a "corner fight," (maybe you used a doorway) and then dispatching them at will, so that they roared, twirled, and collapsed/evaporated.

I miss a Kings bastard sword of Quickness being the best sword in the game...

    ...and having one.

...and being able to BUY one from Griswold! (and no matter the reason for going back to town, you always (always!) checked what he was selling.

But I still love D2, and have logged many, many more hours playing it than the previous version or Hellfire.

It's not "Kings bastard sword of Quickness"

Its "Kings Sword of Haste" (at least the ones that I had)

I remember back on Diablo (original) having the special Whales armor and then going down and finding the book cases while i scurried around looking for holy bolt to use on the 2nd quest guy on lvl 9 or so under the.. mosoleum? I don't remember that well. And then it was awesome when you had to hold cash in your inventory and each pile had a maximum of 5000 gold.

I also remember everyone duping Apocolypes staffs and you'd jsut got to hell and own EVERYTHING with a right click. Then warping into where Diablo was and killing him with the what seemed endless 255 charges on the staff. Then watching the scene where you stab yourself with the soulstone striaght into your forehead... ahh those days.
