I know Infinity has been discussed to death...but pls help my friend...

Im posting this here because I believe Infinity users are mostly sorcs...

Back from a real long hiatus. Recently reinstalled(again) as I found a couple of local guys playing in a similiar timezone. I last played in 1.11 extensively.

I would like to know if theres been a change in game mechanics with regards to the -% resists(infinity) and -resists(conviction aura). I kinda know quite abit about this back then, about how -% does not work on immunes because of the >110% resists they have.

Theres this guy whom is dirt rich who claims that the -45-55% enemy light resists works for his LF attacks when the infinity is equipped on his merc.

I'm pretty sure this did not work like this back in 1.11 but somehow his "wealth" got into his head and no matter what I said fell to death ears, mainly because I just restarted and could not "experience it for myself" this season(yet).

So the point of this thread, I was hoping some of you guys could chip in as to what actually really happens when a javazons merc equip an infinity so that I could direct him to read this thread, and stop arguing with me so we can actually play. If I am wrong, I will gladly eat my own words.

his logic(which I fully do not follow):
my LF kills much more effectively when my merc equips infinity -> it must be the -%resists!!!

Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

The Conviction aura makes LF much more effective. The -lightning resist does squat for his character (although it makes the merc's CL ctc more effective).

you are right, he is wrong. just another illustration that wealth != intelligence.
