i hope the fix the bosses

You know, even barring OHKs from bosses, giving them too much life just makes them tedious. It's a fine balance.

Pre-patches, Titan Quest had a couple boss fights that went this route and they simply weren't enjoyable. On my first playthrough, before any guides were written, before any one on the forums had beaten the game, before I knew which classes were good with what and which weapons were optimal for whatever, I must have died 20 times just trying to kill him. Just from battle of sheer attrition.

Lots of people don't like that degree of challenge.

yes, if you read the lore especially the book series sin war.. which is based off the lore. the bosses in d2 seemed like they could never be defeated, by no mortal man etc.. etc.. but yet in d2 we can kill meph 30 times in 30 minutes. i mean its such a drag and so boring

i hope in d3. even with the strongest character we can die in 1 hit by the bosses just because of one mistake. like getting ur head bitten off

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL

id rather the bosses be overpowered then underpowered

/end rant
yeah, i think hardcore players will LOVE that one!

I think most users won't be able to defeat Mephisto 30 times in 30 minutes. And that's not why they play either. I thought the bosses in Diablo was at a fair difficulty level.

Didn't read through the 5 pages, but here goes.

People keep complaining about how, even on hell, Baal, Diablo, and Mephisto die too easily. The problem is, the people complaining almost always use highend runewords. Multiple highend runewords. Plus CtA. These runewords were not supposed to be the standard for gear in D2. High runes are so astronomically rare, people weren't supposed to have every slot maxed out with a runeword, so the difficulty of the monsters cannot be effectively compared to a character who has them all. People get glitch rushed, twinked, buy every runeword they can online, get a perfect torch, perfect "anni," 3/20/20s, skill GCs - then turn around, after doing no work themselves, and say, "wow, this game is too easy. Make it harder."

Even using only uniques, Hell becomes more challenging, and trying to use rares and magic items make it a true challenge. Try it. Play through hell untwinked with any class other than a hammer paladin. See how many high runes you find. Try getting a Hellfire Torch. Try waiting for a Diablo Clone to spawn, then try killing him. With you rare items and negative resistances.

lol bad ash please..

last ladder season me and my team of 7 went through the whole game in 2 and half days

norm-hell

yes its easy to glitch stuff like we glitch the andy quest so she has a better chance of dropping uniques glitching her on nm is such an easy way to get sojs.

but in no way is it a struggle or a challenge

Clearly you do not know that much about D2. Perhaps you might want to read some of the other forums around here and have some info tucked under your belt before making statements like that.

You are wrong on that. Totally.

yes i am.. i will say it again

if you are still playing singleplayer AFTER 10 years then you are plain stupid or poor

Unless its hardcore, then its fine
Maybe you should stop insulting people ...before you end up on a permanent vacation from the forums.

The argument really isn't about whether D2 bosses were difficult or not, but why they were difficult, and why that made them not fun to fight.
Duriel was a really, really lame boss and everybody knows it. You should enjoy a boss fight, not want to crap your pants before clicking on a hole because this big guy will rush you and pretty much demolish you within a second, after slowing you so you can barely move.
