i have a plain no s archon 588def wow ,, but how can i have a 3socket in it
tell me pls
That seems like a superior archon plate. So thats why as far as I know there is no way to get 3 sockets on it. Larzuk will give it 4 and you cant do the cube recipe thing on it because its superior, and even if you could there would only be 1/6 chance to get 3 sockets on it.
only 4 socket ,, is it still worth ??
is there a thread on this, i dont understand why he will give it four sockets.
For normal/ethereal items Larzuk will give sockets determined by Ilvl -if Ilvl is above 40, it will always get max sockets for that given item (Mlvl=Ilvl, so anything found from Act2 NM and forth will get max)
-if Ilvl is below 40, look here : http://www.diabloii.net/items/sockets-list.shtml
Too see max sockets on items look here : http://www.d2data.net/item/baseitem.html
i suggest u keep it for 4 socks, still good for CoH
One way to get less than max sockets is to gamble it in the cube recipe. Unfortunately you are able to generate any number of sockets 1-4
wuts the recipe
That recipe only works with normal white items. It won't work with ethereal, superior, or damaged items. This armor's obviously Superior because the cap on Archon is 524 (just checked)
does anyone know if character difficulty does anything. Will a col blade found in hell socketed with the quest in nm not get 6 sockets?
Yes. Regardless of difficulty level the item is socketed in it will receive max sockets (6 for col blade) if the Ilvl is < 40.
Hey, does this mean that if I fixed a say broken Archon Plate, which sets it's Ilvls to 1, I will get 1-3 sockets from Lazuk, or juz 3?
Since Archon Plate is TC 84 it has to be ilvl>40 so you will get 4 sockets with socket quest
Only way to get 3 is using recipe on normal white armor or find one most likely in the bloody foothills and on...
no....they weren't talking about that. The durability of the armor doesn't affect anything really. They meant the base item prefixes : low quality, cracked etc. As for those, they don't change the ilvl which is set by the monster dropping the item, or by your characters level when buying/gambling etc.
Archon plate always has high enough ilvl for you to get max sockets from Larzuk, which is 4 for that armor.
Yes the recipe sets Ilvl to 1, and therefore you will get 3 sockets from Larzuk..
Guess what I said was kinda dubious... lol... let me explain again.
As Cujo noted, I was talking about using the cube recipe to turn a broken/cracked/lowquality archon plate to a normal quality one using the recipe. This supposedly makes it Ilvl 1.
Would that then make 3 sockets from Lazuk a certainity? 'Cuz I am pretty sure I've seen a few low quality elite items drop from time to time... They would be nice for 3-word runewords then (read: Engima or Cresent Moon for phase blade)
Yes -look here : http://www.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?t=131861
Worth it and more. Stone is a 4 socket runeword and is an outstanding defensive armor. The runes (Shael Um Pul Lum) are not growing on trees, but they are still fairly common. I made mine by combining the NM and Hell hellforge quests of 3 characters. Not efficient, but worth every bit of effort. With 588 base, you could get as much as 2200 def (off the top of my math-challenged head).
Chains of Honor is a little tougher to acquire, but is probably better than Stone, given the skill bonuses.
It works on Ethereal items too. They just can't be superior. I have 3 sock Eth Wire Fleece that I turned into a Gloom for my merc. 2111 def anyone?
