i hate it

i HATE the medicine that's not the non-drowsy kind

i just took some tylenol cold and sinus about 20 min ago, and it's kicking in big time, i'm stumbling around and i feel like i'm gonna fall over, is this what being drunk feels like? o_O

i wouldn't know :xmad:

if its non drowsy it says, did you read the label? Anyways tylenol cold is supposed to make your drowsy so you can sleep.

I so hear ya, but so many medicines seem to be meant to put a horse to sleep. I'm currently on a lortab equivilant (which gets me sleepy) a blood pressure medicine (which either makes me sleepy, or dizzy, I cant stay awake long enough to decide) and an antibiotic, which makes me sick to my stomach. Nothing like stumbling to the bathroom cuz you feel queasy, just to wake up 30 minutes later, sleeping with your head on the seat. Then spend 10 minutes trying to decide if you were sleeping or being ill. Then of course falling asleep before being able to decide.....

Yeah, the 'make ya sleepy' meds haven't been kind to me either....am I sleeping or posting?

Go to canada for your cheap drugs man.

I find that either I'm not willing to admit that they make me more tired, or that they don't make me more tired... I'm not sure which

Hey Zeppelin, drink lots of water. It almost helps negate the drowsy effect. When I get sick with allergies, I LOOK for the drowsy stuff, for some reason it works better for me than crap like Claritin. I hope you're taking it because you're sick with allergies, tho. Only thing it will do otherwise, is make ya sleepy! Hope you feel better, ya crazy loon! :D

Well, here's where I'm a total freak.

If I have the drowsy sort of medicine on hand, I LOVE being sick. Seriously, I take a few spoonfuls of Dimatapp or whatever, and the combination of the headcold and the medicine... I never sleep normally as good as I do under those conditions.

Drowsy medication does jack and squat to me if it's OTC (over the counter). It sucks. Give me a Xanax or a Valium or a variety of other fun drowsy-making prescriptions, and I usually get a tad sleepy. Planes are my enemy.

Amen brotha'. I sleep so good when I take that stuff. No dreams or anything either.

I don't really see the problem unless you have choirs or something. In that case it's liked getting hopped up on sort of drug, per se mushrooms.

I don't mind taking medicine that makes you drowsy. I took some while I had the flu, and basically slept for about 23 hours. Of course, when I was sick again, I asked for the same medicine, and it gave me an EXTREME headache for the next couple of hours, and didn't make me sleepy at all. That sucked.

I hardly ever take medicine anymore, after my little encounter with "Zythromax". I had strep (sp?) throat when I was 12, and this was prescribed to me. It helped make it go away, but unfortunately it gave me an eating disorder for the next month which made me lose 30 pounds. I was down to 64 pounds by the time I had to be given something else.

After that, I just try to live through being sick, without any help.

I refuse to take that stuff now. I got a head cold my junior year in high school and took Nyquil every night for a little over a week. I think I got addicted or something because when it came time to stop using it, I couldn't. Not a wink of sleep for a three weeks after that came without the help of Nyquil.
