I got me a new job

Yes, I no longer am a call center worker bee, I am a hotel check in/out girl. It is 32 hours a week..Fri-Mon from 3-11 pm. Its not like I date or anything anyway.

It is not a busy season so I will have plent of time to study. The girl who gave me the orientation/training said that everyone that works there are college students and I should bring my books to study. Plus, it is 5 mins from where I now live. The pay is slightly less, but I will get paid to study!!

The owner's children work there as well in management. Both are in med school so perhaps if I have questions, they would be kind enough to lend a hand.

We are allowed to piddle around on the net, but not chat rooms. I may ask at a later time if I can bring in my laptop so I have access to all of my stuff.

Actually, I called them and told them I would be late and told them why. They told me not to bother coming in. I was going to give them a week, I have not worked there that long.

I'm glad to hear you got a new job Zodi... especially if it works out well for your schedule.

I admire you getting back into school and all and hope that the kiddos are doing well!

Most importantly, never forget that you can kick this bad world's arse if you can just get on your feet.

The past two years, since Steve and I split up, have been hell. The last 8 months especially. Along the way I have met, or got to know better, some very dear people who have helped me out more than I can express.

    My time is coming.

    Congrats on the job Zodi.

My wife used to work front desk at a hotel. I used to do night shift at a motel too. Long, quiet hours (lots of study), plus some interesting stories to boot.

Nice one, get loads of action at the hotel and won't have to bring them home. Really landing on your feet.

Be sure to ask the cleaning staff what they have found then let us know the good stuff.

    And congrats.

Congratulations! I wish Life/God/etc. would give nice people a break. Even though it's a good start, keep it up and be careful of many things and people... (good ol' ellipsis)

    That sounds cryptic.

I think I am really going to like these hours. It will be so nice to be able to spend daylight hours with the kids and not be exhausted. Today, Samara and I took a 3 mile hike, two of those miles I pulled her in her wagon and the last one she pushed her doll in a stroller. Things like that I was unable to do where I was working. We all had a hard time getting out of bed before 9 or 10 am and I had to make brunch, get ready for work and transport them to my mom's and be at work by 2 pm. By the time I got home, it was time to give Sam her bath and snack.

I don't think I want to know some of the things that are found in hotels. I guess it is just me, but I think it is rude to leave things behind. I would never want that job.

Awesome job Zodi! Hope everything works out well for ya.

Nothing beats the service industry. Plenty of time to study and you can actually work your way up while you are in school so that in time you will be making well more than you did at the last job.

    Yarr++
