i got hacked, wat can i do?

I was playing, and some1 asked to see my armor (ik armor) next thing i know it was gone and so was he??? I pretty sure i got hacked because there was no way in hell i pressed agree. He has probably traded it off by now but can I still do anything. I got his account name does that help???

To the best of my knowledge there isnt a hack available that would let him take your item off you.

If there is such a hack now, that will be a very sorry day for D2X.

Perhaps the hack auto makes you click 'agree to trade'

no way you can get it back, I would advise everyone not to show their euipment except to friends, or ppl in these forums.

just say " its just a normal IK "

Sadly there is nothing you can do after the fact.

But read the forums and learn some of the scams that are out there to prevent a future occurance.

I find it VERY strange that someone who has been playing long enough to come across thier own IK armor is not savvy enough to know not to show valuable items to other players they don't know.

I had only been playing 2 weeks on bnet using junk when I found out that there are people out there who want to take your items just for the thrill of taking them.

I heard of a hack involving a trade window where you agree to a trade even after the window has seemingly been closed. This happens the next time you press return, e.g. when trying to chat with the guy in the game. That means if you are trading with an unknown person and the trade seeminggly got aborted, leave the game without pressing return at any time.

I never trade with unknown persons, so I don't have any first hand knowledge. It might be entirely different. It's just what I heard.

Its just a hack to do that would have to be fairly advanced.

Since each person uses a separate client to 'communicate' with the server - each client is protected by encryption. It is very difficult to hyjack someone elses client.

So the notion that someone has developed a hack that can hack you client ( or hyjack your client) to automatically agree to the trade, or to make the trade happen by simulating the trade instantly after you cancel the trade is pretty nasty.

If this is the case I'm glad that I gave up D2X

Aye, that's similar to what I've heard, though the one I heard about was where you to press return during the trade, not after it. Apparently, the person using the hack tries to get the other person to chat while the trade window was open, and therefore force accepting the trade.

I know that trade hacks have existed in the past, but whether or not one exists now, I'm not sure :/

Anybody know how this body popping hack works, or more importantly, how to prevent it from happening to you? The last thing I want to be is in a dueling game and have all my gear drop if I lose.
