I can't host games.

I can't host games.

I can't host games for StarCraft: Brood War (as well as pretty much all other games). I used to be able to when I had 56k (NetZero), however ever since I got pipeline (Charter), I couldn't host. I think it's because I have a router (I know that ZoneAlarm isn't the problem, because I had ZoneAlarm before I got broadband and I was able to host). Please help me rectify this most unfortunate situation.

Yes, it's your router.

You have to set up port forwarding on the router in a way that connection requests from the internet to the ports which are used to host the games (see the game docs for information on the port numbers) are forwarded to your computer. For example, if your computer has the IP address 192.168.1.2 and games are hosted on port 1234, set up in your router that connection requests from the internet to port 1234 are forwarded to 192.168.1.2, port 1234. You might also have to switch off DHCP in the network settings of your computer and assign a fixed IP address to it, that depends on your router.
