OT: You guys who use to hang around in the OT-forum, do you play diablo 2 anymore?

@Dondrei - Do you ever play Diablo 2?
I haven't in ages, I started up again a while back but then I got too busy again.

Don't even have time for all my new games.

There aren't even 40 man raids anymore, all the high level raids are 25 man now. And anyway, the vast majority of WoW players are still on the level 70 5-mans and Kara (10 man).
Yeah, most people are doing Heroics and Kara still.

And you don't have to do a 25 man raid. I plan on doing Arena, where they have 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 teams. I'll be on my shammy as a hybrid, I'll be healing and nuking. So there is variety thank you very much.

regarding 25 man instances, Blizzard have removed the preq's for SSC and The Eye. So more guilds should start progressing from Kara now

You said avoid LoTRO like the plague. Is it really that bad? Or is it that damn good.

Well, my name on GW is Nefarious Necrite, and I'm usually only online between the hours of midnight - 10AM Central Standard.

Actually, just playing the beta for a few hours, I thought it was quite good. They definitely "borrowed" a lot from WoW, but they added other unique concepts too and the story seems a lot more interesting.

I'm confused, does GW not have realms and such like WoW?

Oh, as an aside, I got to tank Kara for the first time tonight....it was just as fun as I imagined.

EDT: Replying to Saro. Athelstan ninja-posted between us.

What I really liked was what people have been *****ing about to no end. The fact that magic is scarce, and when it is found, rather mundane, in the LotRO.

I think it at least makes sense. If you have played Middle-Earth Role-Playing Game (the non-computer one, can't remember the game corp that released it), you instantly remember that at least during most of the Third Age the Eye was pretty vigilant for any emergence of exceptional power, and attuned to looking for magic (mainly to divine the lost Ring). Any insane casting of fireballs at will would summon the attention of Sauron, and the few that could do such feats often declined from doing so. And for a good reason. The lack of spellcaster classes makes absolute sense lorewise, even if the wizard fanbois cry about it.

Well, I guess there's the three different Campaigns. Each city in those campaigns are split up into Districts, but you can travel from district to district at will, and you can whisper to one another accross districts as long as you're in the same campaign.

Good point though, my character is on the Nightfall Campaign.

No, everyones on the same server. individual areas are split into districts, but you can still whisper people in another district, and you can change district with a button click.

I now have a character on the Prophecy campaign, named Son of Sylvan. I'll be playing him whenever my roommate isn't playing GW also. I've also realized the Prophecy is much more monotonous and has a much slower to start than Nightfall.

I can be found online no earlier than 6:30 AM and no later than 10:00 PM so it doesn't look like we'll be playing together too much.

I did get protector of elona on my paragon today though
