I am sick!

I just died for the millionth time, and when I went to rejoin my game, I had everything except my ali baba and rhyme shield.
I can't find them anywhere. Where did they go?
I was doing fine, killing things in the Hell Tamoe Highlands, when I was overcome by lance archers or something. I died. So I went back and retrieved myself. I picked up a two handed sword on the way so I had something to fight with. As I got closer, I died again and I thought I would just exit the game and re-join. I did and my body was there with all my stuff except the items that I would've been holding if it weren't for the two handed sword I picked up. I have an oculus and an ancient's pledge shield on switch and I did get those back. But I really miss my ali baba and my rhyme.....am I totally out of luck here? I'm the only one playing so I know nobody took them.
I'm just gonna cry now... :weep:

You can only have one body. So, you had your sword and the rest of the stuff equipped and the ali baba and shield still in the corpse. then you died and saved and exitted. And since you only can have one corpse, the game deleted the one with the least gold value. Namely, the one with the ali and shield. Sorry for your loss.
If youre on europe i can help you out.

Thanks, pedu. I'm on USEast but I sure appreciate your help.
I'm just gonna go over there in that corner and pout a little and then come back slammin' later.
*sigh*
It just sucks to be me right now.
:hanky:

Regarding which corpse gets saved by the game, it's the corpse having equipment with the highest buy value - and Charsi has her own, special ideas about item values.

It could have been worse. If you had put on some rare orb with +skills etc. or some random armor with a not too low defense and you died again and left the game without recovering the corpses, you might have lost everything except that orb or crap armor...

Did you check the weapon switch? Sometimes you accidently switch weapons, but most likely the stuff is lost, because of the reasons mentioned above.

If you really want to pick up your body after dying type "/nopickup" before. If you don´t touch the "Alt" key, you won´t pick up other stuff then.

That's a good idea to prevent corpse retrieval accidents. Entering /nopickup is one of the things I start each Diablo session with, to avoid picking up stuff under my mouse cursor in general, not just for corpse retrieval.

The other is /fps.

I'm not quite sure that I understand the "/nopickup" before. What does that do?
And yeah, my stuff is definitely lost!
Oh, well.....

/Nopickup prohibits you from picking anything up unless you have alt held down.
Gotcha- that would be a pretty good safety net - too bad I didn't know about it when I got that two handed sword that led to my ali baba's demise!
Oh, well, we will find another!
Thanks, guys, for all your help!
Thumb is out of my mouth, crying is over - time to move on and get even better stuff (she said cautiously!):starry:
