hurry up already

ok, so i played diablo 2 a little, not that much. i then went on to be a wow fanatic and did all that crap. i've since stopped, and have been checking out the diablo 3 website and what not, and i cant frikken wait! it honestly looks sooo good. i feel like blizzard makes the best rpgs... i was hooked to wow for like 3 years, and i feel like diablo 3 will give me the fun of wow and desire to replay and continue to play without the crazy addictiveness. (even if there's the crazy addictiveness, still gonna be fun =P)

anyway, i am posting because i want to know, like everyone else, when this game is coming out?

when you check out the site and vids and stuff, it seems like game mechanics are done, and all that is left to do is implement the 2 new chars, make some more mobs and levels and bingo.

now, i am far from a game expert so i wanna ask, what is taking them so long and why will it take so much longer to release the game? what do they have left to do that takes so much time?

You know, make the game. As of December they were just a little into Act 2. And once they do finish all the acts they will probably go over them a few more times. And then we'll get beta which might be 4-5 months or longer to balance/fix bugs/optimize the client.

Creating entire acts, refining the story, quests, and every model and skill aniimation in the game, ensuring that each class is unique and have different and useful skills, ensuring the UI is perfect, ensuring the random levels and quests generate properly, installing anti-hack and making trading and currency coherent, creating hundreds of items and their animations on each class... the list goes on and on.

Blizzard makes good games because they put quality time into them. God forbid we end up with the unbalance of DoW2 at launch.

how much time does this take? all this crap about it coming out 9/9/9 seems a little pushed. does 2010 make more sense? early? later?

Its the end of April and they've only revealed 3/5 classes. I can promise you its not going to come out until after SC2, which will likely be Q4 or Q1 2010, so we're looking at at LEAST Q2 2010.

Many seem to agree with you. And the market follows through. It's why game quality has been degrading over the years to the point of absurdity (bug-riddled games, half-finished, not properly tested, unbalanced, even unplayable sometimes).

Lets keep demanding less and less.

Yeah, after the announcement everyone was convinced it was a lot farther along than it actually was. They literally had only done what they showed us in the trailer, and that was all staged. We don't know how long the acts will be, but there will be several more acts and the Tristram cathedral dungeon is just one of many dungeons that needs its own tiles and styles.

Dammit dammit dammit. I REALLY need to get my Diablo installed again, I have a burning question!

I installed and played thru D1/Hellfire about a week ago.
Whats your burning question?

ok, so i have another question then lol.

i tried installing diablo 2 on both my computer and my brothers. my computer is about 1.5-2 years old, pretty decent. not a duel core, but good **** nonetheless.
my brothers comp is pretty damn sick. new, duel core, the whole 9 yards.

my problem (its on both comps) is that when i instal diablo 2 and try to play it, its SUPER laggy!

like, i use to play diablo like 10 years ago or something and it was smooth. now, with a much better comp, it lags ridiculously.

anyone know how to fix this problem? cause i'd like to play some diablo 2 and actually get into it.

What OS are you running? Vista maybe?
If so, try running it in compatibility mode.
Right click your D2 shortcut > Properties > Compatibility Tab

Try the Glide Wrapper. http://www.svenswrapper.de/english/index.html. I know this is allowed in Single Player, however I am not sure if it is allowed on Bnet

Also like all Blizzard games "it will be ready when it is done" I know this is frustrating, but I would much prefer a finished game rather than an unfinished game (Hellgate London anyone?)

ok,so basically, you guys are all genuises, cause it works super smoothly now. thanks so much guys, your all smart bastards. next question though lol! are there any mods that kinda give you a wow type layout? like 1-9 = skill hotkeys and what not?
