Human History//Classes
I know this is a fantasy game, but all fantasy is based on historical myth and actuality.... If you are really going to make an educated guess on what the next class is going to be, I would say the smart engineers at blizzard are basing their schemes on human culture....
I have already covered the Yeoman (actual) and Vampire (mythical) characters in a previous thread (both European Concepts) but what about other cultures and beliefs? I feel the Witch Doctor pays tribute to African myth and lore (possibly Amazonian as well). The wizard is the first character to have a distinct East Asian appearance, while the barbarian fills the celtic/viking archetype.
What about a Samurai like class? Two hand sword specialist/bow.... interesting concept, yet I feel it isnt likely due to the wizard.
Or how about a "Thugee" class paying respect to India. A Melee mystic with unique passive abilities with maybe a little range added in? (coastal pirate perhaps)
I would also love to see a native American like, Savage class: a range (bow) warrior with no connections to Sanctuary's religions, and inherently connected to nature...(maybe has melee abilities where he fights with arrows at close quarters 3/4 weapon damage... kinda interesting)
I dont know, I just think that a dark and gritty game like diablo3 (better) be would be much more engaging with classes that you can relate to. The more realistic and recognizable they are, the more enthralling the story line is IMO...
any thoughts?
