Howl for Tristram?

Just wondering if the SLvl+CLvl can exceed the MLvl there and is it a worthwhile skill to keep them off your back long enough to getthe job done, whether that be getting a Torch or setting up for leveling.

Hot tabbing Howl is essential for a Frenzier in Ubertrist.
1 point wonder will get to at least 10 from +skill items.
Howl every 10 or so seconds since howl doesn't affect ubers.
This is good, because your target Uber wont run off with the rest of the minions.
Also, because ubers are immune to howl, you wont overwrite your curse you just cast on him. (Amp Damage|Decrepify|or Lifetap.)

Good point - I'd never considered before as I'm something of a Nub when it comes to running UT with a Barb

What, then, is the highest level of a non-boss monster, assuming it's a Tristram denizen? Since SLvl+CLvl>MLvl determines if the monster flees, this will help calculate ideal skill placement.

The monsters there are level 83. Not sure there's an ideal skill placement for it. 83 isn't too hard to hit before entering UT.

The ideal amount would be however large you like the radius.

I love howl, though. I wish all of my barbs came with a slvl +30 howl.

I'm not sure what level you should be to do Tristram, but that means ordinary area levels will be higher, at 85. So, assuming minions get no bonus in levels, the highest whitename would run from a SLvl1-5 Howl boosted from dual Echoings on a decent level character. In Tristram, this would be CLvl75 (high enough to wear a Hellfire Torch when it drops) with skills bonuses on switch.

Anyone ever do Tristram earlier than that?

Be warned that you probably don't want to switch weapons to howl. Switching tends have a small lag unless your connection is really good.
